Due to poor health, we have reluctantly decided to retire and close the nursery after running it for nearly 30 years.

Thank you for your interest if you have just found us and thank you to our previous customers if you are returning – sorry that we cannot help you.

Cyclamen Hederifolium and Coum are now entering dormancy and this is the time when it is easiest to plant them.

We have collections of both varieties available - some are mature enough to have flowered here at the Nursery at least one year previously, some are younger and are a good way to create a ‘drift of cyclamen’ quickly as they allow a larger area to become established at lower cost.

Our collections of corms will mainly be the pink flowered forms (which is the dominant colour) but there may be some white flowered plants too.

The first 2 photographs are of Cyclamen Hederifolium when in flower in the autumn (first a more mature plant and then one of the nursery beds that the cyclamen are lifted from).

The 3rd and 4th photographs are of Cyclamen Coum when in flower in the winter (first a more mature plant and then one of the nursery beds that the cyclamen are lifted from).

Our Cyclamen Coum are in full flower.

The first 3 photographs show some of our naturalised mature plants and the last 2 show parts of our nursery beds - we'll be lifting these to sell from May as they become dormant.

The first 4 photographs show some of our Cyclamen Hederifolium stock plants that we gather seeds from - you can see some of the freshly curled up stems of set flowers that will give us seed next summer - and the final photograph shows a nursery bed coming into flower where we will lift corms from for sale from next summer.

As Cyclamen Hederifolium and Coum are now entering dormancy, we will begin sending out orders on Tuesday 7th May.

They will be mature enough to have flowered here at the Nursery at least one year previously.

Our collections of corms will mainly be the pink flowered forms (which is the dominant colour) but there may be some white flowered plants too.

The photographs are of corms a few years older - firstly, Cyclamen Hederifolium when in flower in the autumn and, secondly, Cyclamen Coum when in flower in the winter.

We are taking pre-orders for Cyclamen Coum and Cyclamen Hederifolium for despatch from May 2024 when they are dormant.

The photograph is of a self sown Cyclamen Coum - probably 10+ years old - that I took this morning.

Coum is just starting to flower and will continue for another couple of months.

Each Cyclamen Hederifolium corm will flower for several weeks – but you might find that different corms grow/flower at slightly different ‘rates’.

Flowers come first with the leaves appearing a little later, overlapping with the flowering period (and the leaves then remain until spring) – these photographs show 2 mature corms in our stock plant shadehouse currently.

The first has finished flowering and has a mass of leaves – and you can see the curled up set flowers in the middle that will form seed pods – the second is still flowering well with some set flowers and leaves just coming through (the larger leaves showing are from neighbouring plants).

Our poplar trees start to loose their leaves quite early on in the autumn but the Cyclamen Hederifolium flowers don't have a problem pushing through them.

The leaves will do the same soon too.

Here are our first Cyclamen Hederifolium flowers of 2023 – this is one of our stock plants that we gather seeds from.

With Cyclamen Hederifolium the flowers come first with the leaves appearing a little later, overlapping with the flowering period (and the leaves then remain until spring).

Cyclamen Hederifolium will transplant happily all year round. Of course, it’s easiest when the corms are fully dormant, but as growth progresses, just a little more care is needed in covering all growth loosely except open leaves, large buds and open flowers – they will soon settle in.
