Pick your tradesmen wisely!

This is 1 for the Gas fitters out there.
Came across this 1 today in a loft.
We'd worked at this property back in 2022 which was when the boiler and flue was moved. We carried out the electrical works required for that alongside a bathroom upgrade.
Whilst there we told the client that the existing extractor fan didn't have any ducting so was just being pushed up into the loft, therefore creating potential rot to any rafters etc. We did offer to quote for this, but never heard back.

Fast forward to 2026 and we spotted that some absolute nutcase has ducted the extractor into the boiler flue. Ps. I am assured by the client that they didn't do this themselves.

I turned off the boiler, shut down the extractor and told the client to contact Gas Safe and find out if the nutcase was a gas safe engineer who did this. )Obviously he wouldn't be would he.
Engineers are coming out today to fix it. (Not the clueless nutter who did this I may add).
Lucky there wasn't a death from Carbon monoxide poisoning.
Be careful who you hire folks.
