Is this normal?” A question we hear a lot during a renovation… and most of the time, the answer is yes.

There’s a stage in almost every project where rooms feel smaller, colours don’t look quite right and it can seem like you’re going backwards rather than forwards.

The reality? Renovations rarely come together neatly. There’s a messy middle before all of those carefully planned details start to make sense.

Part of our job is knowing what’s simply part of the process, what needs a little patience and what genuinely needs our attention.

Because sometimes you just have to trust the process…

Another week closer at Project Dovecote.

The finishing stages are well underway, with carpets now fitted, lighting starting to go in and the post-installation snagging beginning across the project.

It’s at this stage that all those smaller details start to make a big difference, bringing the spaces together and moving us ever closer to the finished home.

Project Manse…Normalise the ugly phase!

If your new build or renovation currently looks worse than when it started, you’re probably right on schedule.

Behind the plasterboard, paint and beautiful finishes are months of careful planning, coordination and craftsmanship. Miles and miles of cable, tonnes of copper and more timber than you dare to dream of!

Project Manse still has a long way to go, but this stage is where the foundations of a great home are built.

The magic isn’t in the finished photos, it’s in everything that happens before them.
