Some more photos of this large Copper Beech removal we recently undertook in Northwich. A challenging removal due to its massive size and tight location. The tree was condemned due to Meripilus, a fungus that destroys the roots over time making the tree a risk of failure. Careful planning, rigging and lowering branches under control meant this tree was dismantled safely without damage to the properties behind.

Ash Dieback is a serious fungal disease killing Ash trees across Europe. This tree in particular on its way out with deterioration of the crown and stem. It’s estimated only around 1-5% of trees will have a resistance to its effects. In this case, the decision was made to dismantle this tree by platform for safety and efficiency with its proximity to the road and BT lines.

If you’re concerned about Ash Dieback, please get in touch with us so we can offer solutions, they do not have to be felled in all cases and can be managed with pruning depending on severity. Ultimately it cannot be cured, but we’re here and available to help where we can.

Storm Darragh really did do a number on the local area. The team were called out to dismantle this fallen conifer that had rested up against garages. We carefully took this apart methodically, removing weight gradually from the base upwards, then secured the stem with a line to prevent further movement, this allowed us to rig and lower the larger overhanging branches under control without any further damage to the garages.
