My new favourite thing! I found this wonderful little bracelet at a flea market in Snettisham last week. It's obviously home made, out of old silver threepenny pieces, with a couple of links of chain between each, and fastened with the sort of hook and eye you'd use in sewing. The coins have been arranged mainly in date order, the oldest at 1931, finishing at 1940. I would so like to know the story behind it, but the stallholder could tell me nothing. So it must remain a fascinating mystery. I love wearing it!

About time I put something new on here! I rarely go out without my neat little Lumix camera, and although I have no technical skill at all, I do think I take a good photograph. So here are a few I took around our holiday home (The Patch, at Snettisham Beach in Norfolk) on Good Friday...

Thanks to people who came along yesterday - it was a big help! Looking forward to taking part in the Bump and Beyond event at St Joseph's School in Swindon tomorrow.

Especially as the co-owner of three cats. (Or should that be co-employee of three cats?)

Hello again - I've set up a free trial session for my babies' and toddlers' musical funtime enterprise for 2pm on Thursday April 23rd, at the Eastcott Community Centre small hall in Savernake Street, Old Town. It'll last between 30 -40 minutes, and will be me with my guitar and lots of songs and rhymes and a story or two. Adults will stay with the children and join in too. It would be very helpful to know roughly how many and who to expect. Please could you let me know via email [email protected], or phone 07542228247, or via Facebook. I've come up with the title 'Tiddlypom' - it should ring a bell with Winnie the Pooh afficionados!

I'm looking to set up a new little enterprise, musical fun and entertainment for babies and young children, for parties and groups. I'm hoping to find some volunteers to help me get the format right!
I'd bring my guitar and a bag of cuddly toys and simple instruments along, and we'd sing all sorts of songs and rhymes, and have a few poems and stories as well. If you're familiar with the Story and Rhymetime sessions in local libraries, that's the sort of format I'm thinking of (I'm a volunteer at the Old Town session on Tuesday afternoons). Adults would stay with the children and join in too.
So if anyone out there would like a free 30 - 40 minute session in the Swindon area in the next few weeks, I'd be very pleased to hear from them!
I'm DBS checked to work with children and vulnerable adults, and have Public Liability insurance already in place through other things I do.

Tim and I watched the eclipse from Avebury - a wonderful experience! We had what must have been one of the best views in the country by all accounts, and of course that ancient landscape made it even more magical. There were all sorts of people there - hippies, druids, school children, bikers, even a young woman in a full Native American feather head dress - and all mingling and chatting together, and sharing a variety of viewing glasses and screens. Wonderful atmosphere! The montage below is from Woodbury Common, near where I grew up in Ottery St Mary in Devon.
