It is with immense pride that I have the pleasure of bringing our new brand "The Pondmakers" to market.

Over the past 12 months we have been building up to this point. Training, building features, drafting documents, developing the website, designing merchandise and signage, the list goes on.

We are now ready to take the big step and go live, building beautiful water features across East Anglia and beyond.

We are in the final stages of becoming Certified Aquascape Contractors and our mission is simple, to provide running water to gardens across East Anglia. All the training, the late nights building ponds under floodlights over winter, all the hard graft is ready to be put into practice.

Working with Aquascape by our side, the future is a bright one.

Yesterday morning we managed to get 5 bays of 5ft 6 closeboard erected in Sprowston for an old work colleague and friend. The digging was good and flew through it.

Was even treated to a bacon and egg sarnie at lunch, cheers Cass 🫡😇

February has been a very challenging month with the relentless rain. Working on heavy Norfolk clay is never fun, but one of the jobs we managed to get over the line was this massive 28 bay fencing job in Little Plumstead on the days the weather allowed it.

A challenging job with multiple level changes, soaking wet featheredge adding to terrible site conditions.

Thankfully spring appears to be here at last 🌞

Another weekend working.

Saturday the chest waders came out and we conducted a thorough drain and clean of the Black Barn Farm pond ready for planting, mulching and final liner tuck concealment. When we installed the pond, the mud and rain was unrelenting and a lot of dirt from our work, the rock and gravel caused a huge amount of debris.

The Aquascape dosing system was installed, adding good bacteria to the pond similar to an IV drip and also hooked up the Iongen as a blanket w**d control.

We've bought two 4ft Tree Ferns for use in the display and cannot wait to collect them.

The Pondmakers is nearly ready now with the website in the final stages of development, here is a sneak peek at that new logo 💪🏻

This weekend we reintroduced the Koi to a very different looking pond to that which they came out of.

Extremely proud of this project and the rebuild of the waterfall after teething issues.

The falls sheet more than the original meandering long streams and the pools are deeper.

Every Aquascape Ecosystem we build is completely bespoke, we had the exact same rock to use on this job, but two entierly different waterfalls were built from it, both beautiful.

Last week we started a design course using multiple software platforms to assist us with in house pond/garden design in both 2D and 3D.

This will allow us the flexibility to keep everything in house, designing the gardens with our own ideas and input.

The main reason for embarking on this, is to give prospective clients for our larger Ecosystem pond builds (the new brand being brought to market in the coming month) a plan in 2D on Morpholio Trace, allowing them to visualise what it might look like when rendered and assisted by AI.

Rock placement means no plan can ever be identical on the ponds but at least clients can see our vision.

We are in the final stages of getting this pond refurb over the line. Final photos including the reintroduction of the Koi to follow, once some teething issues are ironed out and aquatic plants are added to completely conceal the Biological filter.

The feature is a 5.5x3.5m Aquascape Ecosystem pond with meandering stream and small waterfalls.

More to follow on this project next week once completed and we can focus on finishing the waterfall and running the water at our Black Barn Farm display garden.

Ecosystem Pond #1 over the line and planted up. Our first of many for this new business which will be live by the new year.

Couldn't be prouder with the result 💪🏻

We've transformed this section of garden, refurbishing an old preformed pond which no longer functioned, with a new naturalistic looking ecosystem pond. The aquatic plants and fish will be put in over the next few weeks, as we move onto Ecosystem Pond #2 in Horsford.

Our Black Barn Farm display pond will be complete this coming weekend with the waterfall and some massive boulders being moved into position to create a real spectacle for the Barns many visitors.
