I stopped doing exterior work a few years ago. This job, finished today for long standing clients, was very much a ‘one off’.

Here’s the before and after pics, transforming the exterior of this rental property in Bulwell, Nottm - it hadn’t been touched in years. Whilst I actually did enjoy doing it, exterior work remains a no from me.

Product used was Johnstones Trade Smooth Masonry tinted ‘Blue for you’ PPG 1035-3

Trusted with keys, just over a week ago I completed the redecoration of hall, stairs, landing and lounge for clients in Arnold, Nottm whilst they enjoyed a holiday away for a couple of weeks.

I kept them updated with progress, sending pics for them to see.

I revisited the clients in their lovely home this morning, now beautifully re carpeted and refurnished. They presented me with this wonderful gift.

Hall, stairs and landing completed over 7 days last week for repeat clients in Lowdham.

Up against it was an understatement. Extreme heat made for very, very uncomfortable working conditions 🥵🥵. On top of that, I was without my van for a couple of days for a replacement clutch. Off load the van at the job and walk to work, luckily just around the corner

Lovely gesture by the client on completion of the job - a box of Hawkstone lager…. my clients are brilliant … makes my job so worthwhile. Can’t beat leaving clients happy 😀

Today I reached the end of the 6th working week in 2026 (05/01-13/02/26).
9 jobs completed for 5 different clients (in that time);

1 x office
1 x kitchen/diner
1 x dining room
2 x lounges
2 x bedrooms
1 x WC
1 x hall, stairs & landing

For the next 3 weeks I’ll be undertaking work for lovely clients in Calverton

Well that’s a wrap for a reduculously busy 2025. GTH Painting & Decorating (Lowdham) has finished on the brushes and rollers until Sat, 3rd January.

It’s timely to announce that 2026 will be my last year trading. The diary is already booking into Autumn and I will be serving existing customers only. I do have the contact details of another decorator which I’m happy to share on request, someone whom I’ve been mentoring through 2025 who will serve the local area well.

I finished my final job of the year today for repeat clients (and friends) in Ravenshead. Really grateful for the ‘thank you’ gift, (thanks again, you know who you are) 🙏

Wishing all my friends, family and fantastic clients a very merry Christmas and a happy, safe and prosperous 2026
