🌷🌱 It’s nearly bulb-planting time! 🌱🌷

Scott is giving us a little look at just some of the fabulous spring & summer bulbs we’ve got in! 🌸 We’ve got loads of varieties to choose from, so whether you’re after colour, height, early spring flowers or something a little different, there’s plenty to discover. 💐

🌱 A few examples to get you started:
🌼 Daffodils – Plant September onwards
🌸 Crocus – Plant September to November
❄️ Snowdrops – Ideally plant as soon as possible, especially if bought ‘in the green’

🌸🌿 PLANT OF THE WEEK — DOUBLE TROUBLE! 🌿🌸

This week we’re bringing you not one, but TWO gorgeous plants! 😍🌿
First up, we’ve got the beautiful Aster 💜 — followed by the delicate and elegant Anemone 🌸. Two fantastic late-season favourites that will bring colour to your garden when you need it most!

🌱 Planting tips:
✨ Choose a sunny or partially shaded spot
✨ Plant into well-drained, fertile soil
✨ Give them a good drink after planting and keep them watered while they establish
✨ Add a layer of mulch around the base to help retain moisture and keep weeds at bay
✨ Deadhead spent flowers to encourage more blooms and keep plants looking their best

💡 Top tip: Plant Asters and Anemones together for a gorgeous mix of colour and texture — and plenty of late-summer/early-autumn interest! 🍂🌸

🎄✨ CHRISTMAS WREATH MAKING WORKSHOP – BACK FOR 2026! ✨🎄

After a SELL-OUT workshop last year, our Christmas Wreath Making Workshop is returning for 2026… and this year, we’ve added an extra date! 🌿✨

Step into a little Christmas magic at Jacksdale Garden Centre and spend a wonderfully festive afternoon creating your very own beautiful Christmas wreath.

Guiding you through the workshop will be our very own Red – floristry trained, wonderfully creative and the perfect person to help you turn fresh foliage, seasonal textures and festive decorations into something truly special. 🌲🍃✨

With a little woodland magic along the way, Red will guide you from the frame up, showing you how to build, style and decorate your wreath ready to take pride of place on your door this Christmas. 🎀

📅 Thursday 3rd December – 1pm
📅 Sunday 6th December - 1pm
💷 £50 per person

Everything you need to make your wreath is included, from the frame and foliage to all the beautiful finishing touches and decorations.

Yes, we know. It’s only September.
Yes, we know some of you will be thinking “too soon!” 🙄

But we also know there are some of you who have had the Christmas countdown running since January… 👀😂

🎅 Our Christmas Grand Opening Weekend is BACK! 🎅
Same time every year. No earlier. No later. 😉

☀️🌼 THROWBACK TO THE SUNSHINE… 🌼☀️

Remember that big yellow thing in the sky early last week? 😂☀️ Well, while it was making an appearance, Dave grabbed the chance to have a wander and show you a plant that we really don't shout about enough…

Heleniums! 🌼

Seriously, how have we missed these beauties?!

They’re absolutely glowing at this time of year, with masses of daisy-like flowers in those gorgeous fiery shades of yellow, orange, bronze and red. Perfect for keeping the garden full of colour as we head towards the end of summer. 🍂

Dave talks you through them in the video, but here are a few tips if you fancy adding one to your garden…

🌞 Give them sunshine – Heleniums are happiest in a lovely sunny position.

💧 Don't let them get too thirsty – they like well-drained soil, but appreciate a bit of moisture, particularly during hot, dry spells.

✂️ Keep deadheading – snipping off the finished flowers will help encourage more blooms and keep them looking their best.

🐝 The pollinators approve! – bees and butterflies are rather partial to them too.

And when it comes to planting partners, Heleniums are VERY easy to make look good! 😍 Try them alongside Echinacea, Rudbeckia, Salvia, Verbena and Achillea, or weave them through ornamental grasses for that gorgeous, floaty late-summer look. 🌾🌼

Basically… if your borders are starting to look a little tired, these could be just the ticket.
