🌸🦊 Foxglove Focus with Dave! 🦊🌸

We’ve had such a fantastic reaction to our plant videos lately — so many lovely comments, compliments, and even customers coming in to buy the exact plants they’ve seen — that we thought we’d bring you a few more this week! 🌿😊

In this video, Dave is showcasing some beautiful foxgloves we have in store:

These cottage garden favourites are perfect for adding height, colour, and plenty of pollinator interest to your garden — and the bees absolutely love them! 🐝

⚠️ Please note: Foxgloves are toxic if ingested, so take care when planting and keep away from children and pets.

🌱 Top tips:
✔️ Plant in sun or partial shade
✔️ Moist, well-drained soil is best
✔️ Deadhead to encourage more flowers or leave to self-seed

🌿 Great companions include roses, salvias, hardy geraniums and nepeta for a classic cottage garden look.

Now that your roses are bursting into life, it's the perfect time to give them a little attention to keep them looking their best throughout the season.

In this video, Scott shares some simple but effective pruning tips, explaining how careful pruning can help:

🐾🤠 FEATURE EVENT: ZOE'S PARTY ANIMALS IS COMING TO THE HOEDOWN! 🤠🐾

Get ready for a wild encounter at this year's Summer Hoedown! 🌵🌾

We're delighted to welcome Zoe's Party Animals to Jacksdale Garden Centre from 1:00pm – 4:00pm on Saturday 11th July.

Zoe will be bringing along a wonderful selection of animal friends for visitors to meet throughout the afternoon. This hands-on, educational experience is always a favourite with families and offers a fantastic opportunity to get up close to some amazing creatures while learning more about them from Zoe herself.

🌿 Plant of the Week – Agapanthus 💜

Dave is feeling very zen amongst this beautiful display of swaying grasses, calming hues of silver and blue, and the occasional burst of vibrant purple dancing through the border...

Which brings us to this week's Plant of the Week – the stunning Agapanthus! 💜

Often known as the African Lily or Lily of the Nile, Agapanthus produces spectacular globe-shaped flowers throughout summer, bringing height, colour and elegance to any garden.

🌱 Planting Tips
✔️ Loves a sunny, sheltered spot.
✔️ Plant in well-drained soil.
✔️ Perfect for borders, gravel gardens, or large patio pots.
✔️ Agapanthus actually flowers best when its roots are slightly restricted, making it an excellent container plant.

💧 Care Tips
✔️ Water regularly during dry spells, especially in the first year after planting.
✔️ Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring and summer to encourage plenty of blooms.
✔️ Remove spent flower heads to keep plants looking tidy.
✔️ In colder areas, protect crowns with a mulch over winter or move container-grown plants to a sheltered position.

With their architectural foliage and stunning summer flowers, Agapanthus are a real showstopper and a favourite for attracting bees and pollinators too! 🐝
