Charlie is a 12 year old boy living in Rutland who was sadly diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease four years ago and last year went into renal failure. He is in urgent need of a life-saving kidney transplant.
Since Christmas Eve last year, Charlie has had five serious hospital admissions to Nottingham University Children’s hospital for life-saving treatment and care. Despite battling another serious infection, Charlie has been campaigning to support Nottingham University Children’s hospital to show his appreciation for their incredible care and raise awareness for the need for earlier and improved kidney disease diagnosis.
Charlie has reached out to our local community to ask for donations for a range of toys, games and books, in addition to baby-grows, pyjamas, bed socks and hot water bottles to make life as comfortable as possible for children and parents in staying at Nottingham University Children’s hospital this Christmas.
If you think you may be able to help this wonderful cause in any way, please contact Charlie: [email protected] or drop off donations at local drop points in Oakham: Simmonds Opticians, Burley Road or Olive Tanning and Beauty Salon, Crown Walk.
Have a lovely Christmas Charlie and thank you for all your brave work raising awareness of organ donation and kidney disease.
