Hello September, you're better than January for that "new term" optimism and we're fizzing with ideas and plans after a languorous summer. We're open Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 9.30am-5.00pm from now on. We've got shrubs and spring bulbs arriving next week, perhaps not for Tuesday, but definitely for next weekend. Keep visiting us when you're out shopping in ....it's too early to put the garden to bed 🙂, there's still work to be done and flowers to savoury

Our end of season sale has just got better...but only for 4 days. We will be open Friday 21st, Saturday 22nd, Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August.
We've added more varieties into the £1 sell off and dropped the price on a range of other perennials to £3 each.
Then we'll be rolling into September with loads of new stock including Spring bulbs. Love the fresh start feeling of the new school year, and we'll be back to Tuesday, Friday and Saturday opening hours from 1st September.

It's important for nursery owners to dress in a way that compliments their Plant of the Week.
Lobelia Queen Victoria- burgundy bronze foliage with beautiful scarlet red flower spikes in Summer. Height 80cm. Good in cottage gardens, prairie style planting and next to ponds. Hardy and not to be confused with the lobelia you put in hanging baskets.

We are open Friday and Saturday 9.30-5.00, the 3 for £12 perennial sasle continues, and we have an expanded £1 bargain bench....need to clear some space at the nursery....we're just too good at this propagating malarkey but you benefit from the excess stock 😁😁😁

Special Fruit Plants - Limited stock, only available in store.
A very talented horticultural colleague has grown some speciality fruit plants we have available in the shop.
Cyprus fig - £18 - a highly prized variety of this decadent fruit, add it to a cheese board and pretend you are feasting like the Greek gods- yes, I have been to see The Odyssey 🙂
Kiwi - £18 - a vigorous climber for a sunny wall with the benefit of lovely furry fruits that allegedly help you sleep if eaten for supper
Mulberry King James 1 - £40 - grown from stock plants of the last remaining mulberry planted during the reign of King James 1 at that is now known as the Chelsea Physic Garden. Grows into a tree with fruits that look like blackberries and taste like a wine based berry punch.
We are open Friday and Saturday 9.30-5.00 until the beginning of Sept, then back to our normal opening hours.

Just a reminder we are only open Friday and Saturday 9.30-5.00 during the school holidays.
The nursery is needing a little more attention than usual at this time of year due to the crazy weather we've had this year. Everything put on lots of leafy growth due to the early rain, but during the hot spells they've struggled to maintain that growth so it's all looking a bit tired now.
