Our Poultry schedule is now up and running and open for entries. Last year we couldn't run the section due to Avian Flu restrictions, but this year we can.

As our Poultry Section Secretary, Fiona, says "Chickens and turkeys are back, but sadly ducks and geese aren’t allowed to attend the party yet. Hopefully next year".

PLEASE NOTE that applications for our fabulous Craft Tent are now closed. Our Craft Secretary, Rosie, has been inundated with applications this year and she is really excited about the makers that are going to be here this year. She will be contacting successful applicants by the 15th June.

It's the end of Volunteers' Week, and I wanted to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who help make the Pen*stone Show possible.

I've been spending time with some of the team recently, and I can confirm they're a reyt good bunch. I've been getting some of the attention recently, but it's the volunteers who work hard behind the scenes all year round - planning, organising, setting up and making sure everything is ready for show day.

Did you know that Pen*stone Show is 100% volunteer run? That's right - every committee member, steward and helper gives their time to help create the Show that so many people enjoy each year.

Whether you've been helping for years or have recently joined us, thank you. The Show simply wouldn't happen without you. I'm very lucky to have such a brilliant team looking after me.

An update from our Equine Secretary.

"Plans for the 2026 Horse Section are well underway with lots happening behind the scenes. This year we are delighted to welcome back Unaffiliated Show Jumping with classes to suit everyone.

We are just confirming our judges for all classes and adding the final details to our schedule. Please keep an eye on our social media pages for this going live soon.

Please note that all horses entering the showground must be fully up to date with vaccinations. Proof can be requested at any time.

We are looking forward to welcoming you all to this year's Pen*stone Show. Thank you"

Eeh! I turned up with me checklist ready at the Committee Meeting last week to made sure everyone was doing their jobs properly. Someone has to keep an eye on things, after all!

Behind the scenes, the volunteers are working hard to get everything ready for this brilliant year's show. There’s plenty to organise, but it’s all worth it to bring you a proper Yorkshire day out.

As for me, I supervised proceedings, inspected the biscuits and made a few important suggestions. Well, I tried.
