🧱 Rustic → Handcrafted with a distressed tail edge for a softer look. Bridges the gap between machine made and handmade. 7 colours.

🧱 Classic Handmade → Variations in shape and texture that give your roof old-world charm from day one. Looks like it’s been there for a century. Perfect alternative to reclaimed tiles – but new and built to last a lifetime. 5 colours.

All three ranges use the same natural Etruria Marl clay – with a range of colours achieved through kiln control (not paint or pigments).

We’re very excited that our vertical tiling has been on display at the Chelsea Flower Show this week with 🤎🌿

The vertical tile clad shelter has been built using Handmade Arrowhead tiles in a bespoke mix of Red, Brown Heather and Purple Brown, creating a beautiful backdrop for El Torro II, The Specular by and all of the beautiful planting by .gardens

This stunning oak framed self-build house In Cheshire features our unique Collingwood blend of roof tiles.

After years of living in a cramped cottage that didn't suit their needs, the Lawsons knocked their cottage down to make room for a large oak-framed house. They were keen to build a quality house with quality materials and they felt that getting the right tile/brick combination would be key to the success of their project.

Self builder, John Lawson, had already specified the type of brick he wanted to use. To compliment this, and to adhere to planning advice, he started to search for a red roof tile which would suit the house but would not clash with the existing stable block, which remained untouched following the cottage demolition.

Whilst attending a house building exhibition John came across Dreadnought Tiles and asked for some reference sites to view. After viewing some of these sites he selected Dreadnought Collingwood Blend plain clay roof tiles with a sanded finish for the roof of his self-build house.

The Lawson's were delighted with the quality and the look of their roof tiles against their chosen bricks. And it's great to see our Collingwood Blend sitting in harmony with the oak frame of this beautiful home.

We love this transformation from old school house to modern home in Shropshire.

Designed by .architecture the original building of this school house had been changed and extended in the past, however the current owner was keen to better use the space as well as make the most of the best countryside views from the main living areas.

Base Architecture and Design were appointed and they proposed a new design to improve the usable space of the building without increasing its volume. They removed an old extension and replaced it with a two storey glazed extension, much more suited to 21st century living.

For the re-roofing of this house, Dreadnought’s machine made Staffordshire blue tiles were specified together with a two hole ornamental ridge for the original building and an angle ridge for the new extension. All ridge tiles were dry-fixed over the tileline ridgeroll ventilation system to provide good high level ventilation throughout the roof.

Do you like the use of ornamental tiles as cladding on this restored & extended farmhouse in Wiltshire?

Ornamental clay tiles are normally associated with Victorian, and traditional styles of architecture. Usually laid in bands or diamonds and interspersed with plain tiles, they are often used to add detail and visual interest to large expanses of roof or vertical cladding for both newbuild projects as well as on heritage buildings.

However, for this particular project, architects used our ornamental tiles as a cladding material instead. This complements the existing pallet of materials used and ties in the old with the new.
