I attended a workshop by the wonderful a few weeks ago and as usual never posted anything about it! I was blissfully away in a lovely zone of painting, forever fantasising about having more time to paint for myself… hoping to create a few paintings for my own house.

First slide is a painting I completed at the workshop white my favourite colours, second two are paintings by shone herself and of the workshop.

Can’t wait to go to another one!

It can be tricky for many to visualise the potential of a space - that’s why images of our designs like this one I created for my Perth project help to keep spirits alive when the project looks like slide 2!

One wall is down and the next is soon to be, steels are waiting and the trades are hard at work. Thanks to a great team everything is going smoothly!

A few blue rooms for blue Monday - nothing about these make me feel blue! In fact having a supportive space whatever the colour 💯 helps with mood - just saying ☺️

In this modern timber constructed country home I helped my clients to reimagine a small kitchen and large family room into one open plan space celebrating sociable daily life. We removed the wall, repositioned the door from the hallway and added lots of much needed storage to the sides of the chimney breast.

I’ve not sat down to reflect on 2025 just yet as I’m enjoying a glorious break away from everything …! But looking through my camera roll from the last year and select a few highlights I can see what a good year it was. Lots to be proud of in terms of brilliant clients and projects, time spent with family at home and away, fully renovating (3) spaces in my own home 🙈 which was a lot for one year so no wonder the living room never quite made it over the line!! Re-did my branding, more on that to come in 2926 and plenty of new projects started that will flow over into next year. No wonder I need a break at Christmas!

This year I hope to take my foot off the gas slightly, Martha starts school in August and I want to spend some more time with her before then. I always set a goal to start painting again but don’t quite manage to follow through - this year maybe? Time will tell but I’m looking forward to it all.

Thank you to friends, family and freelancing colleagues who have supported me this far! The best is yet to come ✨

As I approach my 3 year anniversary of Blaven I’m so so happy to have had my branding revamped. Caz has done a perfect job in reflecting my personal style and visual direction for the brand 🥰 kudos also to Fiona who’s brand catalyst course I completed earlier this year. Such a transformative experience and helped me nail down exactly where the magic lies. Can’t wait to implement my new visuals over the coming weeks!

Sharing some stills from this study design we completed last month. This room is testament that working spaces don’t need to feel too functional. We wanted to create a warm and welcoming space with autumnal accent colours and lots of natural wood. The modern aesthetic is balanced with my clients beautiful grandfather clock and a vintage inspired rug to give a bit of vintage character and depth. walls are dimity by - one of my all time favourite warm whites!

Well here she is, finally, in all her glory! And a few before photos included just to appreciate the fullness of the transformation!

In the end I went for whelmish blew by on the walls and ceiling, it’s so soft and light and I love it with the reddish tiles from and the natural wood tones. Tiles are from in Perth.

The hallway at our Abernyte project. We added wood panelling in this space and painted it a darker shade than the walls to make this space feel grounded and cosy. The colour palette of soft taupes with bolder accents provides the perfect middle space that works with all of the rooms coming off it creating a really cohesive and flowing feel.
