Apple season may feel a long way off, but winter and early spring are the most important times in the life of your apple trees.

If you want healthier trees, better structure, and a stronger harvest this year, now is the time to act.

I’m offering:
• Professional apple tree pruning
• New tree planting
• Orchard design and tree selection
• Advice on restoring neglected trees

Whether you have a single mature tree in the garden or you’re dreaming of establishing a small orchard, I can help you shape it properly from the ground up.
Based in Perthshire and working across most of the surrounding areas.
Send me a message to book.

I over heard a statistic just yesterday and wanted to confirm I was hearing it correctly. According to the WWF the UK has lost 97% of its wild flower meadows since the 1930's. I actually have no words to describe the despair I feel when faced with that reality!

This year I am making it my mission to encourage as many garden owners as I can to fight for nature and prioritise ecology and biodiversity.

We should not underestimate the impact our home gardens can have! If you have a green space of your own please consider what you can do this year to bring more life to your garden.

If anyone would like assistance in designing or implementing a regenerative strategy please do get in touch.

May our gardens be ever brighter and the buzzing be ever louder!

As I start shaping the year ahead, I’m opening a small number of spaces in my garden care and nurture list for 2026.

I work with gardens that have the potential to become rich, life-filled spaces — places where diverse planting, wildlife, and organic methods are a given. I work alongside the owner to shape a shared vision, helping gardens grow into something that feels both vibrant and deeply settled.

My approach is soil-first and chemical-free, with a lot of care given to wildlife and the wider landscape. I’m always working towards a kind of beauty that feels natural and harmonious, rather than forced or overly managed.

I return to the same gardens through the seasons and keep my list intentionally small, so each place gets the care and continuity it deserves.

If this sounds like how you’d like to work with your garden — whether it’s already established or ready for a new chapter — feel free to drop me a message and tell me a bit about it.

Here’s what’s in store for 2026!

This year I’m shifting some focus toward community and learning, with a series of workshops designed to be practical, accessible, and inspiring.

Take a look at the events list and let me know — which ones speak to you? I’d love to hear what you’re most excited about, or what you’d like to see more of in future.

I’ve just watched Eating for Tomorrow and it’s one of those films I feel more people genuinely need to see.

What unsettled me most was how normalised the destruction of our natural world has become — particularly the role of industrial agriculture and livestock farming, which still receives so little honest scrutiny in mainstream media.

The sections on aquaculture were especially hard to sit with. Scotland is not exempt here. Our farmed fish industry is as implicated as any other in degrading marine ecosystems, and we need to be far more honest about that.

Individual choices matter — what we eat, where our food comes from, and how conscious we are as consumers. But this feels like a moment that demands collective responsibility, not just personal intention.

There’s real urgency now to connect landowners, farmers, policymakers and regenerative practitioners to re-imagine food systems — locally here in Scotland and globally.

Awareness leads to conversation. Conversation leads to pressure. And pressure is often where meaningful change begins.

Well worth watching.
