🎅🎄 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at A1 Lawn! Thank you for your support this year - whether you've sown our seed or liked our posts, it really does mean a lot.

Our office will be closing at 5pm on Tuesday 23rd December and will be back on Friday 2nd January. Orders can still be placed as usual via our website during this time and we will be back to help with any enquiries as soon as we return.

It’s not too late to sow grass seed! You just need to give it the right start 🌱

Here’s how to improve your chances if you want to sow and grow this winter ⤵️

1️⃣ Prepare the soil: Rake away leaves, moss and debris. Loosen compacted soil so the seed makes good contact and can take root.

2️⃣ Choose the right seed: Pick a cool season or winter hardy mix that can handle lower temperatures. We stock a range of winter seed mixes that can grow from temperatures as low as 3 degrees.

3️⃣ Sow correctly: Scatter evenly, rake in lightly and gently tread the surface to press the seed into the soil.

4️⃣ Water carefully: Keep the soil moist, not soggy. Winter rain often does the work for you.

5️⃣ Be patient: Growth will be slower in the cold. Some seeds will stay dormant until spring, when they will shoot up strong and healthy.
