Great to be back in front of architects this week, delivering a focused CPD session for L.A. London Architects at their London studio.

This “Lunch & Learn” centred on the residential sector, allowing for more detailed discussion around the real-world challenges practices are currently navigating, from early stage coordination through to client journey and design integration across both pool and wellness spaces.

It was particularly encouraging to see strong engagement around key technical topics, including:

✨ The differences between filtration systems (including salt-based solutions)
✨ Moving floor technology and its role in multi-functional spaces
✨ Filtration and turnover rates, and the engineering principles behind them

Earlier this spring, the Guncast Pools & Wellness team took on the Race the Sun, an endurance challenge set against the iconic clifftops of the Seven Sisters. From cycling and hiking to paddling to the finish line, it was a true test of teamwork, resilience and spirit.

What made it even more special was coming together for a cause close to our hearts, continuing a long standing Guncast tradition of supporting charity through shared challenges. With colleagues from across the business, and joined by Group CEO Andy Carr, it was a proud moment for the team and for the wider KLAFS Group.

Thank you to everyone who supported, donated and cheered us on. A memorable day, a meaningful cause, and a challenge we won’t forget.

When a Pool Designer and a Landscape Architect come together, the results are magnificent.

In this beautiful walled garden in Wimbledon, Guncast worked closely with the Landscape Architect to create a swimming pool that sits effortlessly within its surroundings. The result is a calm sanctuary, where pool, planting and social areas work in harmony.

The sleek 8m x 3.5m heated pool, finished with large format tiling and hidden skimmers, flows naturally into an inviting seating area with an outdoor fireplace.

At Botanical Place, their residents only regret is they ‘wish they had done it sooner’.

At the heart of this retirement village is a purpose designed hydrotherapy pool, engineered for accessibility and therapeutic and rehabilitation benefits. Water dramatically changes how your pool tiles look. Acting as a natural lens, it bends and reflects light, softening bright tiles and deepening darker tones. Movement, depth and lighting all influence how colours appear, from shimmering shifts on the surface to richer blues in deeper areas as light is absorbed. Clear water reveals true tile tones; murky water can dull them. The interplay between water and tile is what gives every pool its unique character.
