Fourth generation - Rowan Roger, has been busy growing a fantastic range of Sunflowers to raise money for a volunteering role she is undertaking in Kenya this summer, please help us support her efforts. This is a wonderful opportunity to grow something joyful while helping the world become a better place🌻🌻🌻

Roses are stealing the limelight - Our favourites this week:

1) Standard Rose ‘Mum in a Million’ - produces beautiful large flowers in the prettiest pink which repeat throughout the season - and it smells divine! 🌹

2) Modern Shrub Rosa ‘Starry eyed’ is a real show stopper! Bright blooms of red-pink with a yellow throat - grow as a low shrub or ground cover

3) Rosa ‘Yorkshire Lady’ - What a wonderful gift this would make…Hybrid tea producing linen white blooms with a hint of soft primrose yellow. Simple, elegant and feminine 😊

For those seeking some respite from the heat, why not take a walk down to our shade tunnel - we are beginning to utilise this for Ferns and hope to introduce more plants into there in the coming weeks

Bank holiday weekend - the perfect time to enjoy the garden, just remember the sun hat! ☀️☀️

We are open until 5pm today and have plenty of wonderful bedding plants, perennials and vegetables ready to go in the garden. Whether you are looking to add colour, fill in gaps in the border or produce some wonderful home grown produce, we have lots of inspiration in our plant centre!

The weather is due to improve next week with a rise in both day and night time temperatures ☀️☀️

With that in mind we have a superb selection of vegetables ready to go in the garden: Spinach, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Kale, Leeks and so much more…🥦🥕🌽

In the greenhouse we have Tomatoes, Peppers, Chillies, Courgette, Squash and salad leaves…Runner beans, Sweet potato - the list goes on! 🍅🥒🍠

Wonderful varieties, tried and tested favourites and some exciting new ones!

Thinking of a climber for your garden - we have a great selection including:

Akebia quinata (chocolate vine) - hardy fast growing and producing vanilla scented chocolate coloured flowers in springtime!

Passiflora caerulea (passion flower) - Glorious exotic looking flowers produced during the summer months

Solanum crispum - a vigorous semi-evergreen climber. Preferring full sun and a sheltered position this plant produces an abundance of small fragrant violet-blue flowers.

Clematis - We have a huge selection of Clematis to suit all aspects!

And let’s not forget the climbing Hydrangeas, Jasmines, Hedera and many more!

Fantastic start to the bank holiday weekend!

Highlights from the Plant Centre:

Our displays are full of colour and our herbaceous section has sprung into life!
We are always happy to help you find the perfect plant for your borders, just ask a member of staff 😊

Sweet potatoes are in! If you have never grown them before it’s certainly worth a try - delicious!

Courgettes and Cucumbers are in along with Runner beans, French beans, Aubergines and sweet peppers…

Oh and did we mention the incredible selection of Roses we have! All grown on site and looking spectacular this season 🌹

It’s National Garden Week, run by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) to raise awareness of gardening and horticulture, and to encourage more people to take part in the healthy and productive outdoor activity of gardening.
Well that is something we certainly encourage! Come along and visit our Plant Centre, our staff are always happy to help and advise.
Be inspired by our displays and spend time wandering through our greenhouses. Fruit trees, Roses, Herbaceous perennials, Shrubs, Ornamental trees, Alpines, Bedding plants and Vegetables - we are confident that if you are a seasoned professional or a complete beginner you will find a plant that inspires you!

Our seed grown tomato plants are now available in the Plant Centre 🍅🍅- lots of great varieties to choose from including Shirley, Ailsa Craig, Costoluto fiorentino, Sweet Million and many more!

Bougainvillea, Lantana, Gerbera and Agryanthemum, are bringing joy to the greenhouse 🌺 come and enjoy the kaleidoscope of colour!
