🏊‍♂️🚗 A Drummer's Perspective on Making Waves: When heritage meets horsepower!

This week, Plymouth's stunning Art Deco gem, Tinside Lido, played host to something extraordinary - a £500k Rolls-Royce Phantom taking a ceremonial dip to celebrate 100 years of automotive excellence!

As heritage specialists behind the £4.5 million restoration of this Grade II listed gem, we're delighted to see it making waves in such spectacular style. The lido's 1935 curves provided the perfect backdrop for this modern celebration - proving that great design is truly timeless.

Fun fact: The Rolling Stone article about this event mentions Keith Moon's legendary pool antics. Our own Paul Channing may keep the beat with local rock band Levens Four, but his approach to both drumming and listed buildings is thankfully rather more measured! 🥁

We're pleased to report: no listed buildings were harmed in the making of this spectacular event! ✅

Sometimes the best way to celebrate heritage is to keep creating new memories in these wonderful spaces. Here's to another 90 years of Tinside Lido surprising and delighting us all!

🎉 **We are thrilled to announce that the Pixel project in Penzance has been awarded 'Project of the Year' at Michelmore's Property Awards 2025 (under £10M)!** 🏆

This remarkable project features 40 new artist workshops cleverly positioned above a Grade II listed reservoir, showcasing a stunning blend of contemporary design and historic conservation.

As project architects at Stride Treglown, for RIBA Stages 3, 4 & 5, Ed Houlton and I (Paul Channing) had the privilege of shaping this unique destination alongside the great team at Stride Treglown. BluePrint subsequently continued with heritage consultancy for the project. The dynamic glass façade of Pixel transforms with the light, reflecting the vibrant spirit of Penzance and becoming a beacon for the community. More than just a building, Pixel serves as a hub for creative SMEs, energising the local economy and drawing visitors to this beautiful town.

After a meticulous £2.5M restoration, Plymouth's iconic Art Deco gem is ready to shine again!

We've carefully preserved the original 1935 features—teak windows, bronze windows, glass blocks, Art Deco features and in-situ concrete—so they may battle another 90 years of the aggressive marine environment.

Our team at BluePrint Architectural Workshop is proud to have developed specialised repair specifications to ensure this Grade II-listed landmark stands strong for future generations.

The distinctive Art Deco features that make Tinside Lido so special have been lovingly restored to their former glory.
