Field to Fork further takes a preventative approach by providing a preschool environment for breakfast clubs and after school clubs to educate and encourage local early years children about healthy eating and nutritional produce.
The design echoes the ethos of theorists such as Christopher Day who understand environments for children as being opportunities for exploration and engagement without overstimulation.

Throwback to last semesters design project - Field to Fork.
The outdoor growing spaces towards the south of the urban block provides the opportunity for collaboration between all ages. The space radiates around 3 pulley systems that transport produce on site and act as a spectacle of the scheme. The feature encourages a people powered approach to the process of growing nutritional produce.

breaking up hard edges and allowing the pedestrian to sit and enjoy the music from the rehearsal spaces on the interior without having visual connections. Further allowing the notion of Escapism to be experienced in full fruition.

This week I submitted my HTCC Essay titled ‘Layering of space, Layering through time’ which analysed architectural layering through time and how these asynchronous layers question the unfinished potential of the city. Here are a few of my visuals included within my essay that explore different notions of layering through time and space

Visual Connections in the interior spaces. It was important within these key interior spaces to emphasis the need for visual connections throughout the dwelling and out to the peripheries. The first picture is providing visual connections to the social communal garden but also encouraging connections as part of the daily routine of using the sink. Secondly, the elevated corner at the front of the dwelling provides a space for respite whilst maintaining visual connections through the vertical wooden semi-permeable wall and also developing connections to the street out the front. Finally, the master balcony provides an opportunity for elevated respite and a breath of fresh air whilst connecting with spaces downstairs visually.

Relationship with the street. Another key part of my project was ensuring that the relationship with the street was considered and well thought through. I featured 1-metre high wooden planters to enable residents to be in control of their privacy and exposure. Furthermore, the path is lined with trees and lampposts to emphasise the buffer between the road and the dwellings.
