A1 Home & Garden love a little recycling/upcycling wherever possible. Here are a couple of small wall planters and the start of a bug hotel quickly made using scraps of leftover wood. Not only are these items great for the garden, encouraging more pollinators and promoting biodiversity but they also reduce the amount of waste to landfill. Win, win all round I’d say!

Removal and replacement of kitchen wallpaper for one of my lovely customers. I’d forgotten just how much ‘fun’ this particular paper is to fit, especially around the fitted units that couldn’t be removed. Just a lick of paint around the window reveals and a few little touch-ups and it’ll be like a completely different kitchen!

Haven’t posted in a while and totally forgotten to take before and after pictures of my more recent projects but here are a few from a training course for Lantra Chainsaw Cross-Cut and Maintenance completed this week which adds another string to my bow and possibly may open doors for related work going forward.

Many thanks to Harry and Jay at BM Waste for turning up early and cracking on today. By the time I was on site at the customers property the lads had half of the waste on the tipper and nothing was a problem with Harry even sweeping up too!
Highly recommended. Well done lads, top banana!

Another great day working on the Cottage Garden down on the lovely Pentillie Castle and Estate. Head to their page to see not only two handsome workers! but also check on the progress of an exciting project that our team are proud to be part of.

Our team at A1 Home & Garden have been spending time volunteering for some really worthy causes close to our hearts lately with a particular emphasis on Military charities.

We have been working on restoring the fabulous walled Kitchen Gardens at Pentillie Castle and Estate alongside The Veterans Farm-Able Foundation.

One of yesterday’s jobs entailed the renovation of some steps into the upper reaches of the gardens which had crumbled into a state of decay over the last hundred or so years.

It was nice to utilise local stone found close by into a rather pleasing result and should now enable easier access to the higher ground.

Farm Able harnesses the proven therapeutic benefits of outdoor activity to help those with PTSD and other stress-related conditions. Each personalised programme leads directly to the NHS 5 Steps to Wellbeing: connecting with people, being physically active, learning new skills, giving to others and taking notice of the world around you. What a fantastic concept!
