What a team ⚽️ We love to be able to do our little bit to help 💚
The Hurricanes travelled to Plymstock to play Goals Soccer u16s in what was a very close encounter. With only 12 players available for selection it was always going to be a difficult game against a very well organised Goals team.
The game was end to end for the first 20 mins or so with both teams threatening to take the lead. The Hurricanes opened the scoring on 28 minutes after a quality corner from Torin found Dru in space whose header was superbly saved by Goals excellent goalie. The ball dropped to Ryan who popped the ball into the back of the net.
The first half finished 1-0 to Saltash United.
Goals are a very good team who always look like threatening. They got their deserved equaliser after a well taken corner was met with a fine header into the back of the net. 1-1
Both teams searched for the winner. Goals could have been ahead if it wasn’t for some excellent defending and some incredible goalkeeping by Thurston who kept them out with a number of brilliant saves.
The winner came after another powerful run from Frank, cutting inside and unleashing a powerful shot that ricocheted to Isaac who somehow knocked the ball over the top of the defender and in the same motion volleyed past the excellent Goals keeper.
Another super save toward the end by Thurston and some brilliant last ditch challenges kept the score at 2-1 to the Hurricanes.
A brilliant team performance by all 12 of the lads today 👏🏻👏🏻
