Bay Window Upgrade

This recent bay window replacement wasn't just about giving the home a fresh new look. We also carried out a number of practical improvements to enhance comfort and performance.

🔹 The opening sash was moved from the top to the bottom of the window, making it easier to reach and added a means of escape in case of an emergency.
🔹 We fitted a trickle vent, allowing fresh air to circulate while helping to reduce condensation and keep the home feeling fresh.
🔹 We also replaced four sealed units elsewhere in the property improving the performance of the glazing.

Combined with modern, energy-efficient glazing, this new bay window will help keep the property warmer, quieter, and more secure.

🪟️ Meeting with the team at Sunrise Windows

I recently had a brilliant time visiting Sunrise Windows - Double Glazing Installers - Plymouth in Plympton, speaking with Ross, James and the team about the challenges facing their sector.

We had a really good conversation about how building regulations are becoming tighter and more costly and that SMEs like Sunrise Windows are increasingly bearing the brunt of this.

We also spoke about the importance of apprentices and how businesses are increasingly finding it more and more difficult to hire apprentices because of rising costs – a message I am hearing time and time again.

I will be taking these concerns back to Westminster and will push for a more proportionate approach to regulation and better support for SMEs, as well as continuing to push for lower costs for businesses so they can invest in apprenticeships.
