We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Cook/Chef to join our busy garden centre restaurant in Ivybridge on a permanent basis.

✨ What You'll Be Doing:
• Preparing and cooking a variety of delicious meals
• Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
• Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
• Working as part of a friendly, dedicated team
• Helping to deliver an excellent customer experience

✅ What We're Looking For:
• Previous experience as a Chef/Cook or Line Chef
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
• Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• A positive, team-focused attitude

🌟 What We Offer:
• Permanent contract
• 32 hours per week
• £13.17 per hour
• Day shifts only – no evening work!
• Staff discount
• Friendly working environment within a popular garden centre

We are deeply saddened to share that John Ravenscroft VMH, founder of Bridgemere Garden Centre & Show Gardens, has passed away

A renowned plantsman, nurseryman & much‑loved figure in British horticulture, John died peacefully at home on Tuesday 26th May. His lifelong passion for plants shaped not only Bridgemere, but the wider gardening community

John received the RHS Victoria Medal of Honour in 2008 & later became an RHS Vice President, recognised for more than 70 years of dedication and for inspiring generations of horticulturists

Blue Diamond CEO Alan Roper paid tribute to John’s vision, passion & the creation of the iconic Bridgemere Show Gardens, saying his legacy will continue with a memorial garden in his honour

John also presented Gardener’s Diary from the show gardens through the 80s and 90s, remembered fondly by colleagues for his generosity, knowledge & pioneering spirit

Our thoughts & heartfelt condolences are with John’s family. His legacy lives on in the gardens he created & the countless people he inspired
