Block paved driveway in Penylan with many drainage issues addressed.
This will be the only driveway I've laid this year, the obvious reason being costs, the biggest driving factor being the cost of waste removal.
The price to dispose of soil has more than doubled in just 2-3 years! Whereas the cost to dispose of clean waste(stone, tarmarc, concrete) has remained relatively stable, this massively plays into the hands of rouge traders as any decent driveway installation is going to involve digging down to the appropriate depth removing soft soil and clay and laying a sub base (which has also risen significantly in price) basically so if I decide I need to dig down a little further to be safe (which is what happened on this job) im faced with an extra £400 load rather than the £180 it would have cost 3 years ago,
What was an inconvenience can now be a crippling cost.
In the meantime the rouges are just removing the top layer of concrete/tarmarc🤠. So to put it simple the gap in cost of a good or bad job has risen even more😥
Nevertheless I will always be safe than sorry😇
