Poppleton Community Railway Nursery

Poppleton Community Railway Nursery Built in 1941, it is the last remaining railway nursery in the uk. Now run as a charity by a group of volunteers who hope to restore this historical site.

Poppleton Community Railway Nursery is Britain's last surviving Railway Nursery situated in Poppleton near York. It is operated by a charitable group as a non-profit organisation. The nursery relies on volunteers for every aspect of its day to day activities and we are always looking to recruit interested people to come along and join the team.

On Open Days, the nursery is open for selling plants, books, bric-a-brac and crafts. Home made cakes, tea and coffee are also on sale. The railway, model railway, archives and railway memorabilia are on show.
More plant sales at local venues and extra railway events may be added throughout the year. Please check the website for details.

The nursery is also open for sales on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 10.00am-3.00pm.

Free delivery to adresses within the York ring road area for orders of £30 or over.
