The local branch of the RIBA - RSUA have a section explaining why an Architect is the person best placed to guide you through a construction project, whether it be a renovation or new build.

Why employ an architect? Changing the design of your home, whether building a new one from scratch, adding an extension or adapting existing space is probably the single biggest investment you will make in your home. An Architect is well placed to guide you through this journey from the very outset....

Why use an Architect? A very important question. Anyone can draw a building with a floor, walls, and a roof but a Chartered Architect is trained professional that knows about the Technical, Regulatory and necessary requirements to put a building together. There are so many things that you need to consider when you have a construction project in mind.

Happy !!!

Did you know that on average we spend 80% of our time in buildings and probably more now in 2020? The spaces that we live, work and socialize in can greatly impact on our Mental Health! As architects we don't just consider the way things look but other aspects that contribute towards how you feel in a space! When considering any project it is important that you engage a Chartered Architect! They have studied for 7+ years and the design process is more than just pretty drawings (although we do love that too!)

We hope you have a great weekend, whatever you get up to!!

We are in the process of designing an extension to an existing bungalow which is considering using charred timber cladding to contrast with the existing white rendered house. A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of receiving some beautiful Shou Sugi Ban samples from Sasha at Toasted. She was also kind enough to invite us to see 'The Cinder Box' which was a beautiful example of her vision for her home, using the timber cladding not only externally but internally also.

It is important to us that we use local crafts people and businesses wherever possible in all our projects. If you have a project that you wish to discuss, please get in touch.
