Starting to get enquiries about garden work, despite some of the colder snaps recently. February and March start to bring us some signs of the upcoming spring - bulbs planted end of last year are just starting to peek through. Now is the time to start planning for the spring & summer, so here's a few jobs that can be done this month in preparation for the spring garden 🌷

✂️ Pruning shrubs & trees encourages strong growth, increases flowering & maintains general health of the plants as well as keeping them neat & tidy. Now is the time to finish up winter pruning & start some springtime prep. It's time to satrt pruning some shrubs such as shrub roses & group 3 clematis. Some fruit trees will also benefit from a good trim this time of year
🌱 If you have a few moments, think about tidying up your garden herbs before the new shoots start growing. Snip off remaining seed, w**d & aerate around them. Be careful not to prune woody herbs too hard at the moment, but a light tidy-up is ideal.
🐦 Don't forget to help our feathered friends this time of year by keeping feeders topped up & providing some fresh water for them. Watching the birds enjoy your offerings is a joy to watch on a cold, winter day.
