This socket was pulled from a rental property this week.

What you’re looking at is severe heat damage and burnt wiring. A fire risk waiting to happen.

⚠️ Spot the issue? We did.
We were recently contacted by the landlord of this property to carry out an EICR before new tenants moved in.

There are so many things wrong with this board, yet it was previously marked as satisfactory. Absolutely shocking, (pun intended) this installation should never have passed.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first and definitely won’t be the last time we see unsafe consumer unit signed off incorrectly.

✅ An EICR is only as good as the person carrying it out.
Always check who you’re hiring. Your safety depends on it.
