Over the past few weeks, I’ve had several worrying reports:
• An elderly resident was charged £400 for a job worth £65. The lock failed the next day, the wrong parts had been fitted, and the so-called locksmith refused to return. They were not local, despite claiming to be.
• Another customer was threatened over the phone after cancelling upon discovering the “locksmith” was travelling from East Lancashire and wouldn’t arrive for hours.

This behaviour is dangerous, unprofessional, and sadly becoming more common.

How to Protect Yourself
• Ask for an estimated cost before booking. FaceTime or sending a photo of the issue can help avoid surprises.
• Confirm the locksmith’s actual location before giving your address.

Burglaries are on the increase !
If you are in a new home , do you know who previously had keys to your doors? Possibly previous tradesman, family , letting agents, etc . Why not be safer than sorry n change your door cylinder/ locks ?!🏠🔑🔑

I also change ‘blown ‘ failed double glazed units .🪟
Replace window handles and hinges if your windows are stiff or stuck closed or open.
Change door handles, locks and cylinders .
