🔧 Another successful damp treatment completed in Liverpool 📍

Our team recently carried out specialist damp remedial work on this property in Liverpool, tackling two separate moisture issues:

🏠 Chimney breast with heavy salt contamination
Over time salts had contaminated the plaster, causing damage and decorative failure. We removed the affected areas, installed a specialist membrane system and prepared the chimney breast ready for re-plastering and finishing.

💧 Rising damp to the window wall
Moisture had travelled up through the wall causing visible damp and deterioration to the plaster. The affected area was treated and protected to prevent further moisture ingress.

This property had previously had the chimney removed, but the brickwork hadn’t been treated correctly — allowing salts to attract moisture and create damp issues 💧

We were called in to put it right, and while on site we also tackled rising damp in the bay area 🔨

Customer called us out for a “bouncy” floor — safe to say we quickly found the problem 👀

Once we lifted the floor, we uncovered extensive dry rot and fungal growth that had completely destroyed the timber structure beneath. In some areas, the joists were barely holding together.

The customer mentioned the floor had been “repaired” around 4 years ago, but unfortunately it hadn’t been treated correctly. As you can see, the issue was left to spread — leading to serious structural damage.

This is exactly why proper treatment and addressing the root cause is critical. A quick fix might look fine at the time, but if the source of moisture isn’t resolved, the problem will come back worse.

If your floor feels spongy or uneven, don’t ignore it — it’s often a sign of something much bigger going on underneath.

New project underway 🔨

Customer originally reported a mould issue, but after a full inspection we found the root cause — the existing render had deteriorated, allowing water to pe*****te behind it and cause damage to the structure.

This week we’ve started phase one: removing all the failed render and letting the building properly dry out in this lovely weather ☀️

Next up (phase two): installing new render insulation boards and finishing with a high-performance silicone render for long-lasting protection and a fresh new look.

Stay tuned for the transformation 👀

New job started today for a client who’s just moved in 🏡

Started removing the skirting boards… and found the air vents for the suspended timber floor completely blocked 🤦🏻‍♂️

No airflow = a recipe for damp, rot and costly problems later on.

Another one of those “looks fine on the surface” jobs… until you start opening things up 👀
Time to put it right
