Customer called us out for a “bouncy” floor — safe to say we quickly found the problem 👀
Once we lifted the floor, we uncovered extensive dry rot and fungal growth that had completely destroyed the timber structure beneath. In some areas, the joists were barely holding together.
The customer mentioned the floor had been “repaired” around 4 years ago, but unfortunately it hadn’t been treated correctly. As you can see, the issue was left to spread — leading to serious structural damage.
This is exactly why proper treatment and addressing the root cause is critical. A quick fix might look fine at the time, but if the source of moisture isn’t resolved, the problem will come back worse.
If your floor feels spongy or uneven, don’t ignore it — it’s often a sign of something much bigger going on underneath.
