Pretty impressed with my latest ‘new’ mower!
A Viking MB 545T. I believe the same mower is available in a slightly updated version under the Stihl brand. It was a toss up between this and a Honda Izy. But having read that Viking ( Stihl ) mowers give a good cut even in damp conditions I chose this.

Welcome to the 2024 season! It has been a very wet beginning with a few false starts! I have had to introduce a small price increase accross the board.. spiraling costs to blame. Luckily so far I have not lost any customers. I am now solely working for myself as both Alan & Colin who some of you may know, have had to cease working for me for health reasons. I however continue to remain commited to providing the best service possible at the best possible price.

Most of my customers are honourable, considerate and ( most importantly ) pay on time! Unfortunately I had a ( albeit infrequent ) customer refuse to pay me after both myself and my colleague had worked tirelessly for almost 2 hours strimming down and then mowing repeatedly a ‘jungle’ of a rear garden. In the past I had carried out similar work for her at her previous property and although I had always had to wait for her ‘pay day’ to get paid myself but she had always eventually paid. I did this particular job at a reduced price as she was pleading poverty having a couple of young children. She has asked for w**ds to be removed around the edge ( large field w**ds ) and I said I would use a combination of cutting back and removing. To cut a long story short I was accused of not completing the job and she had taken it upon herself to do the ‘work I should have done’ herself. No opportunity given to me to address the issues or indeed to suggest a lower payment. Instead she just stated that she could no longer pay me. Had the final ssy on a text to her that was both to the point and respectful. Just move on Gareth..

Hello to the 2023 Season! Just preparing for what will hopefully be a good and profitable year.. It is a fine balancing act between trying to keep myself "affordable" whilst at the same time trying to ensure that I make some kind of decent wage..
Unfortunately I have lost 3 dear customers over the past few months.. Luckily so far I am being kept on by the families for the time being..

One of my customers border. Taken a bit of work over a couple of years. Originally planted with Busy Lizzies but the slugs and snails made light work of them so replanted with Non Stop Begonias.. not a favourite meal of the afore mentioned.

One of my customers, Anna, passed away suddenly earlier this year. I had just been asked by her to plant out the front beds. She never got to see the final display but her daughter and son-in-law seem pleased worth the result.
