An innovative solution to a client's frustrations. An understairs cupboard is a useful space if you can get to it. In this home a bookcase stands next to the cupboard and needs moving each time the door needs to be opened. The solution was to cut and hinge the door so it would open without moving the bookcase. However, when a larger opening is needed the door can still be opened at full width. Not a pretty solution, but one that achieved exactly what the client wanted.
