Grounds Maintenance Team Leader
GREENS is a family run business based in Redruth specialising in grounds maintenance, landscaping and tree surgery. We provide these services to domestic customers, commercial clients and local authorities across Cornwall.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to lead a team from our base in Redruth and play a key role in our continued expansion. You will be providing high quality grounds maintenance to a variety of clients across Cornwall and further afield from time to time.
Our dedicated team carry out a range of horticultural work including gardening, grass cutting, hedge cutting, bed & boarder maintenance, shrub pruning, spraying, gritting and snow clearance.
With a hands-on approach you will organise, motivate and lead a team on contracts, ensuring that a safe, compliant and exceptionally high-quality service is delivered at all times, duties will include:
• The coordination of resources including team members, vehicles, machinery, and equipment
• You will be required to operate machinery, including mowers, brushcutters, hedge cutters various hand tools and gritter
• Operate equipment in accordance with experience and training
• Conduct basic practical training and mentoring with new team members
• Effectively manage performance and promptly raise shortcomings with the Managing Director
• Always ensure Health and Safety compliance
• Ensure work instructions are issued to all team members and to verify completion
• Ensure work schedules are carried out as instructed
• To report promptly and accurately on all activities to the Managing Director
• To attend if required meetings with clients
• To identify additional works carryout initial measure and quantify additional works
• Undertake any training required to carry out duties
The role requires out of hours working and emergency call outs of which you will be given a generous remuneration.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following:
Essential:
• High quality and customer satisfaction at the heart of your delivery and always be looking to progress your professional career and personal development.
• A good depth of knowledge and experience of working in the Grounds Maintenance industry and possess the ability to lead and inspire a team, whilst promoting our company values and standards.
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
• Good interpersonal skills be a team player and can communicate effectively at all levels.
• Results focused with an ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• City & Guilds or RHS qualified in Horticulture or similar.
• NPTC Qualified; Ride on Mower, Pedestrian Mower, Brushcutter, Hedgecutter and Spraying.
• Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
• CSCS – LISS card
• SSSTS or SMSTS
