Happy Sunday!
It’s our last day in the Holt pop up today and our sale table is being replenished so there’s still plenty of bargains to be had! It’s also Holt Market day so the town will be busy buzzy.

Please note that both shops, Reepham and Holt will be closing at 2.30pm today.

Good morning from Cushion Cottage. It’s a fine Saturday so if you do fancy a venture out then please pop in and see us at The Old Railway Station, Station Road, Reepham or find us at Franklyns Yard, Holt pop up - we are open 10-4 both venues.
We are pleased to report that there has been an exciting development on the site where we are based. It has been widely known that the cafe unfortunately closed rather abruptly just over 2 months ago. Since then the owners have actively been seeking new tenants and have recently appointed DeWitts as letting agents, not only for the cafe building but also the large unit where Kerris Pine used to be. Both are to be leased under Class E registration, which is commercial use and provides a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to establish a business on this very popular site. Anyone interested should contact DeWitts directly on 07917 657749 or [email protected] Both Cushion Cottage and Sophysical are unaffected by this and will continue to run their separate businesses with no changes.

Today was supposed to have been our last day in Holt, but there has been a cancellation and we have been offered an extra day. We are thrilled about as it’s Holt Sunday Market day tomorrow (Sunday) and the town will be extra busy.

New William Morris fabrics arriving very soon!
We are changing our Morris fabric supplier due to the escalating prices from our usual source and because we are now having to buy in much larger amounts, to keep the cost down, we have had to reduce our range slightly. After much deliberation, we have decided on these four.

Such a special visit at the pop up shop today from Sarah Brooks and her dashing husband Todd, who took the time to call in and say hello while on their visit to the UK from Texas. Sarah was Cushion Cottage’s first international customer when we first met around 10 years ago. Safe travels home Sarah & Todd. Much love xx

🕯️ How To Choose a Safe Candle 🕯️
Candles are everywhere these days, from supermarkets to craft fairs and online marketplaces. But how do you know you're buying a product that's been made and tested properly?
Here are a few things I always recommend looking out for:
✅ A CLP Label :-
Since 2015, all fragranced products sold in the UK and EU must have a CLP label. This tells you about any allergens or hazards associated with the fragrance and includes important safety information. If a fragranced candle doesn't have one, that's a massive red flag (and would invalidate any insurance held by the maker).
✅ Safety Information :-
A candle should always come with clear safety instructions, including burn times and general usage guidance.
✅ A Proper Warning Label :-
Look for the standard candle safety symbols and instructions. These are there to help you enjoy your candle safely.
⚠️ Be Cautious of Botanicals and Glitter :-
Those dried flowers, herbs and sparkly decorations might look beautiful, but they can create additional fire risks when placed in or on candles. Personally, I don't use botanicals or glitter in my candles because I'd rather prioritise safety over appearance.
🕯️ My Top Candle Safety Tips :-
• Trim the wick before each burn
• Allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface on the first burn
• Keep away from draughts, children and pets
• Never leave a burning candle unattended
• Always place on a heat-resistant surface (I always recommend a candle plate)
A well-made candle should be both beautiful and safe to use. 💚
