Hi, long time no speak on here but you may have seen that I’ve tried my hand at painting. I have never painted before and, to be honest, the thought of it was fairly terrifying. On a whim, I bought a pad of really thick paper/card and some cheap acrylic paints for £5 from . I didn’t need to buy any brushes because, over the years when I have bought decoupage brushes for my workshops, they usually come in a set of brushes which I’ve never used, until now. The first painting I attempted by following a tutorial on was the beach with the sea. I couldn’t bloody believe how well that turned out, how the hell had I painted that!!!!! That was two months ago and the fire in my stomach for painting is ablaze. I actually missed it when I was on holiday, yearning to paint…..me……who can’t even draw a stick man. I miss it when I’m at work. I still follow tutorials but my confidence is growing with discovering the colours I’m drawn to most. I’m aiming to be able to paint a portrait but that’s proving to be really hard so more practice needed there. Anyway, I just wanted to share my new hobby on here for you guys, maybe if I can perfect one of these pictures I can start painting workshops alongside my decoupage workshops. The painting workshops will have to be 6 hours long as that’s currently how long it takes me to paint a picture but what a magical way to spend 6 hours with each other 😂.
