A 30% crown reduction we carried out on these two Lawson cypress recently, our client wanted (understandably) a little more light inside the property but without felling the trees and to maintain a natural look. Our advice was to reduce the crown by 30% as anymore would result in bare patches and die off for some of the branches, any less wouldn't achieve what our client wanted.

A group of 3 trees (× 2 Sycamore ×1 English oak) 30% crown reductions. The top section of the crowns had been removed many year's previously, leaving overlong lateral side branches that were vulnerable to catching the wind (wind sail effect) and rain which can result in limb loss.
We reshaped the trees to a more balanced shape which will ensure the crowns act in a more natural way in strong winds.

25%crown reduction for this English oak in Northwood a couple of days ago.
Because of the trees close proximity to the house, we recommended a reduction, which retards root and butt expansion to slow the risk of subsidence and damage to underground services.

A sycamore that we have had the pleasure of reducing a couple of times over the last 12 years .
Great care has to be taken at all times, but this particular tree grows at the bottom of 3 gardens that have plastic rooves covering the sheds that fill a big proportion of the gardens. This meant extra care and thought needed to be applied in order to make sure they weren't damaged by the work .
