This project in Sherborne involved refurbishment works to multiple sash windows and doors throughout the property, including the installation of our 12mm slim double glazing system and upgraded draught proofing.

As part of the process, the existing timber frames were carefully routed out to allow the new slim double glazed units to be installed while maintaining the original appearance and proportions of the windows. This allows homeowners to improve thermal performance without losing the character of traditional timber windows.

The project also included full interior and exterior painting along with refurbishment works to sashes and frames throughout the property, helping restore both the appearance and performance of the windows and doors.

This project in Southampton involved refurbishment works to a timber casement window, including preparation to the frame and sashes, installation of new glazing, and upgraded draught proofing.

The existing glass was carefully removed and disposed of before the rebates were cleaned and prepared ready for the installation of new 6mm float glass. Traditional putty-style timber beading was then fitted to maintain the original appearance of the window.

Alongside the glazing works, new draught proofing beading with brush pile was installed to help improve efficiency and reduce draughts, followed by preparation and painting to protect the timber and complete the refurbishment.

Rotten timber is one of the most common issues we encounter when restoring older sash, casement, and fixed windows. On this project in Petersfield, the windows required careful refurbishment works including timber repairs, repainting, glazing repairs, and full preparation throughout.

As part of the process, all loose and flaking paint was removed before the affected timber areas were carefully dug back to solid wood. Wood hardeners, specialist repair resins, and timber repairs were then used to rebuild and strengthen the damaged areas while preserving the original window structure wherever possible.

The windows were then fully re-puttied, primed, caulked, and finished using specialist German Remmers paint systems to provide a durable and long-lasting protective finish. Projects like this help restore both the appearance and lifespan of original timber windows and doors.

This project in Christchurch involved a range of timber repair works including small and medium cill replacements, bottom rail repairs, and repairs to damaged sections of the frame.

Bottom rails and cills are some of the most exposed parts of timber windows, meaning they are often the first areas to suffer from moisture ingress and decay. Once the extent of the rot is fully exposed, we can determine whether repairs or full replacement sections are the most appropriate long-term solution.

Using a combination of hardwood timber repairs and specialist restoration methods, we’re able to strengthen and restore original windows while preserving as much of the existing joinery as possible.

Over time, timber window cills are exposed to constant weathering, moisture, and water runoff, making them one of the most common areas for rot and decay to develop. On this project in Wi******er, we carried out two medium cill replacements where the existing timber had deteriorated beyond repair.

When left untreated, failing cills can allow water ingress into surrounding timber sections, leading to more extensive structural damage to the frame and window itself. Replacing damaged cills early helps prevent larger and more expensive repairs in the future.

Each replacement cill is carefully manufactured to suit the existing window profile before being securely installed, prepared, and finished to blend in naturally with the original window.

Malmesbury is a beautiful historic town known for its character properties, traditional cottages, Georgian homes, and period townhouses. With so much architectural history throughout the area, original timber sash and casement windows remain an important feature on many properties.

The town dates back over a thousand years and is home to a wide range of heritage buildings, many of which require specialist care and restoration to preserve their original appearance. Timber windows in these older properties often need careful maintenance to protect them from weathering and age-related deterioration.

We regularly carry out restoration and refurbishment work throughout Malmesbury and the surrounding areas, helping homeowners maintain the character and performance of their original windows and doors using sympathetic repair methods.

This project in Frome involved full preparation and repainting works to two ground floor bay windows along with a bathroom window. The opening windows also received draught proofing upgrades to help improve comfort and reduce unwanted air movement through the property.

Before any painting began, all frames and sashes were carefully prepared to ensure the surfaces were stable, clean, and ready for finishing. Proper preparation is one of the most important stages in achieving a long-lasting and high-quality paint finish on timber windows.

The completed works included full interior and exterior painting, helping restore the appearance of the windows while protecting the timber from future weathering. Combining repainting with draught proofing is a great way to improve both the look and performance of original timber windows.

This project in Salisbury involved full refurbishment and repair works to a sash window along with a triple kitchen window. Over time, the windows had developed areas of wear, failed putty, and movement issues, all of which are very common in older timber windows.

As part of the refurbishment, we carefully prepared all frames and sashes, carried out repairs where required, re-puttied defective areas, and adjusted the sash windows to improve operation and alignment. Draught proofing was also installed using new parting and staff beads to help improve comfort and efficiency throughout the property.

The project also included day-rate refurbishment works, installation of new cills and profiles, along with full interior and exterior painting. Restoring original timber windows like these helps preserve the character of the property while significantly extending the lifespan of the windows.

This project in Fareham involved our Paint Removal and Staining Restoration Package across the left and right elevation conservatories, bringing the timber back to its natural finish after years of heavy paint build-up.

The process starts with a full inspection of all surfaces, assessing the condition of the timber and existing coatings before carefully removing layers of paint using controlled heat methods. We then strip, sand, and refine every area - including detailed hand sanding to preserve mouldings and original features - before treating any minor damage and preparing the timber for finishing.

To complete the restoration, timber bleach is applied where needed to even out colour and remove staining, followed by multiple coats of high-quality wood stain. This enhances the natural grain while providing a durable, breathable finish that protects the timber and restores its original character.
