Making the world a prettier place for Postman Pat ✨

The normal prep routine with some Toupret UK wood hardener & filler, Oxera Repair Products rebuild resin & glazing sealant, followed by Caparol haftprimer and Johnstone's Trade Paints water based satin 🎨

Annoyingly I couldn’t get a lot of the existing paint off the glazing without risking damage, so just had to straighten things out ☀️

We’re up to August ‘25, when sunshine was a reliable friend ☀️

I could have happily spent several more days prepping these doors, but that wasn’t the specification this time, so just needed to make them weather proof and add some straight lines where I could. Toupret UK wood filler and glazing putty, along with Oxera Repair Products glazing sealant helped to achieve this 💪

Brouns & Co linseed oil paint was a new one for me to use, especially having to mix up a few ingredients for the primer coat. The paint was lovely to use, although I did have to be super vigilant spotting runs 🎨

Happy 2026 ✨

I’ve been so busy over the last few months I’ve neglected posting, so the New Year’s resolution is to get back on track!

Here’s a throwback to summer ‘25 with a great project climbing around scaffolding for a few weeks. A late finish meant I wasn’t able to take all the after pics I’d have wanted, so here’s a snapshot of some of the prep and a few shiny finished pics 📸

A ☀️ week of summer ‘25 ✨

A bit of an exercise in restraint to freshen up the frontage of this stunning property. The paint on the 1st floor brick line was consistently cracked and pitted, so needed a skim of Toupret UK masonry filler.

At ground level is where the real restraint came in, to repair only up to the bottom section of the window frames. Flaky & crumbling masonry was wire brushed back, treated for fungus & stabilised before the liquid ingredients of Sandtex & Farrow & Ball masonry paint. Sandtex satin used on the bottom of the windows 🎨

The Weathershield shine 😎

Really satisfying transformation for this bungalow, with the tired, flaking wood stain finish replaced with a crisp, white shine ✨

A lot of sanding, scraping, digging out of failed caulk and filling went into this one. Oxera Repair Products rebuild resin was used for the deeper repairs, while Toupret UK wood filler handled the surface filling 💪

1x Zinsser UK bullseye 123 primer, 2x Dulux Trade weathershield flexible undercoat & 1x weathershield exterior high gloss were the liquid ingredients 🎨 With the special addition of Owatrol oil paint conditioner to aid flow and adhesion ✅

After plenty of prep using Toupret UK & Oxera Repair Products, the walls & ceilings were finished in Teknos teknoceiling 02, woodwork in Johnstone's Trade Paints acrylic eggshell 🎨
