🚢 Kicking off the year back on site at Heysham Port — delivering another Peel Ports project 💪

Despite challenging winter conditions ❄️🌬️, our teams have pushed on and made excellent progress, keeping the project firmly on track for completion.

Works include the installation of ISPS-compliant 358 mesh fencing and gates, alongside Armco protection, all finished with a marine-grade powder coating ⚓️ — built to perform in a harsh coastal environment.

Always great to be working again with a returning client 🤝 — a real testament to strong relationships and quality delivery.

🌟 Highlight of the Week 🌟

A standout moment this week was receiving some incredibly positive feedback from the Site Manager on our first project with Kier. He took the time to personally share how impressed he was with our team’s performance on site — from their professionalism and PPE compliance to the cleanliness of the site, quality of workmanship, and thorough daily paperwork.

Our team has worked exceptionally hard, installing 265m of palisade fencing in just 4 days to help secure this water treatment facility. A fantastic effort all around!

We’re proud of the work delivered and hope this is the first of many successful collaborations with Kier.

🔒 Another proud milestone for our team at Metcalfe Fencing and Land Services.

We’re pleased to showcase one of our latest high-security installations, delivered for IHP at Kingsway Secure Hospital in Derby.

Metcalfe Fencing Contractors Ltd were tasked with the full supply and installation of the fencing and gate package for this new-build secure hospital — incorporating advanced anti-climb, anti-ligature, and anti-burrow security features.

Our scope included:
✔️ 2.4m and 4.2m high 358 mesh fencing
✔️ Double skin systems and privacy screening
✔️ Specialist crane lifts into enclosed courtyards
✔️ Precision planning and ex*****on over 8 months

This logistically complex project demanded careful coordination and an unwavering commitment to safety and quality — and we’re proud to have delivered ahead of schedule.

Massive thanks to the on-site team, including our .garcia.20 for their professionalism and hard work, and to our trusted supplier .systems for their support in helping us deliver to the highest standards.

Fantastic to see the first leg of one of our 5m acoustic schemes posted and will soon be ready to receive the prefab timber panels, once the concrete has cured properly.

The acoustic screen is being used to screen a new housing development from the neighbouring prison.

Another local project where we have been selected to undertake the works based on our expertise!

Great to finally make a start on site this week for our new client, which is 1 of 3 new solar farm projects for the same client, totalling 30,000m of deer fencing across all 3 jobs.

A stunning morning for a walk round one of our live off shore wind farm converter station projects.

Our fantastically skilled teams are erecting external palisade and internal mesh, all designed and fabricated bespoke to our clients needs. The externals fence is sat in a 1.4m x 450mm foundation, complete with reinforced concrete beam/cill.

We are due to complete this project in December, on time and within budget.

Earlier on the in the year we completed the fencing and gate package for this new build Wickes store in Durham.

Installed on site was the internal and external 4m 358 galfan fencing and matching gates.

Another fine example of fantastic workmanship by our lads on this one 👊🏽

Another solar project is well underway for us, down in Boston, where we are installing 8000m of deer fencing.

This is our second solar farm for our Danish client, after successfully delivering our first project for them in Bath earlier in the year.

Recent progress photos from one of our live acoustic jobs, for our client at Skelton Lake in Leeds.

Our teams have been working non stop to deliver this monster 4m x 400m acoustic barrier, which runs parallel to the M1.

Looking forward to it brightening up and returning to take some decent completion photos!

Installing this 3m high SafeTfix mesh system with timber infills.

6m3 of concrete and nearly 7000 screws later.

What a monster.
