Today we are removing the spire and haleys comet weather vane from the dome of the Altazimuth Pavilion at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich park. Photos of the project to follow.

Corn Exchange Clock Rochester

The Corn Exchange clock was a gift to the City of Rochester from Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell in 1706. The original clock was square faced and had deteriorated so badly that it was replaced in 1771 with the round one. We removed the original round clock from its beam as it had fallen into disrepair and replaced it with a working replica. The festoon on top of the clock and the carved bracket are the originals which have been repaired and restored. A time capsule created by local Medway school children has been placed inside the clock. The original clock will be on display at the Rochester Guildhall Museum in the future.

We have erected the scaffold at the Corn Exchange Building in Rochester in preparation for the new clock to be installed over the next few weeks.

Eastgate House is now open to the public. Unfortunately the press didn't give us any credit for finishing off the project in readiness for the grand opening. So a photo just to prove that we did actually work on the project.
