While the rest of the world is doing football things, our marvellous Exeter Chiefs are battling for the trophy today!
Are any rugby fans going to the pink pub (Cranberry Farm) to watch it this afternoon? https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EGsjNugFa/
Be fun if there's a crowd!
See you there...
Good luck boys! Exeter Chiefs Official πŸ†

I can hardly believe that it's almost midsummer, but the Solstice is almost upon us!
In preparation for our ritual celebration, I've handcrafted a Solstice "tea" blend and oh how I wish you could smell it! My kitchen smells divine!
This glorious blend is made with lemon balm, rose petals, chamomile, nettle, strawberries and blackcurrant leaves... All homegrown and dried (except for the strawberries which I get freeze dried).
It makes a deliciously delicate, refreshing hot tea, especially with a spoonful of Rockbeare honey courtesy of Kirsty Melluish, and to honour the season, I have a jar of sun tea on the go... It'll be ready to drink in time for our party, along with Sunbread and Solstice jam!
I made enough for 5 bags, so it's first come, first served... Grab yourself something truly special to add to your Solstice rituals (or just to drink any time and taste the sunshine!)
I'll put them out on the honesty stall tomorrow, Β£5 per bag (approx. 20g)

I know it's a bit early to be thinking about Halloween, but if you want your very own Pumpkin to carve, or make soup & curry come October, now is the time to get pumpkins and squashes into the soil. They're slow growers, so if you plant them soon, by the time spooky season comes, you'll have a patch full of pumpkins ready to carve!
I over-estimated how many I needed (as always), so there are some out on the honesty stall for you... There are some traditional, big orange pumpkins, Butternut and Red Kuri squashes for cooking, and one lone courgette... All ready to plant out πŸ’š

Just in time... The sun has come back out and the Elderflower cordial is on the honesty stall ready to refresh you, it really is the taste of summer!
We'll be open today from 11ish till dimpsy, there'll be elderflower cordial, rose petal jam, some fab tomato plants (huge thanks to sweet neighbours and friends for donating plants to replenish the stall after losing ours) mint, borage and teasel... But be aware there are no eggs, our hens are still on strike!
I'll paint nice new signs soon, but cardboard ones will do for now!

Dear Rockbeare, Cranbrook and beyond, I just wanted to send a huge thank you to you all. After the most recent incident at our honesty stall, I’ve been so incredibly touched by everyone’s kindness, support, messages and checking in on me. It really turned a horrible situation into a reminder of how lucky I am to live here. We have such a wonderful community and neighbours. Let's not let a tiny minority spoil things for the rest of us... Thank you all so much again, I truly appreciate it πŸ’š

A friend found our damaged egg sign... Keep a lookout around the village for the others (and the plants!)... Maybe the culprits were daft enough to leave a trail behind them!
And thank you all for your kind words πŸ’š

Sad and disappointing news from our honesty stall this morning...
All of the plants have been taken and all of the hand-painted signs have been ripped off and taken, even the cardboard ones!
I don't know what else to say... πŸ–€

Aren't these Feverfew flowers gorgeous? My sweet friend Alice of Oscar Rose Jewellery, picked a huge harvest for me from her allotment!
I'll dry them and make my daily migraine prevention cuppa, and I'll pop some into a jar of oil too, to make some salve to ease my achy old joints!
It's such a lovely plant πŸ’š
