Lost the keys to your door, or your window is stuck shut? ☀️🔐😡

This photo was taken recently when I was called out to a customer who had lost the keys to their Juliet balcony door.

At this time of year, it can be really frustrating when you can't open a door or window properly. When the sun is shining, the last thing you want is to be stuck inside with no way to let in some fresh air. 😦

The good news is that jobs like this are often much simpler than people think. With the right tools and experience, I can usually get things sorted quickly and have everything working again in no time.

I was called out to a customer in Hornchurch who had just sold his house and was about to hand the keys over to the new owner. There was just one problem... he'd pulled the door shut with the keys still inside! 😱🤭

Not exactly the sort of thing you want happening on moving day. 😭

Thankfully, I was able to gain access non-destructively, retrieve the keys, and save the day before what could have been a very awkward handover. 🦸‍♂️

Moving house is stressful enough without locking yourself out at the final hurdle, so I'm glad I could help get things back on track. 🥰

I’m really grateful to Indy for taking the time to leave such a kind review after a recent garden door repair.

I see the damage these rogue locksmiths cause far too often myself, so it’s great to see the MLA pushing for real change and better protection for the public. 💯

The petition has now reached 1,500 signatures, and I am sharing this again to raise awareness. Please take a moment to sign and share the petition. 🙏

Rogue operators using fake locations and misleading advertising continue to damage trust and put consumers at risk.

Rear door lock problems sorted in Rainham 🔐

I was called out to a customer in Rainham whose rear door lock had completely seized up and was no longer throwing the hooks properly, making the door difficult to secure. 😬😲

The handles had also become faulty, so these were replaced too with new chrome handles to match the other fittings around the house and keep everything looking nice and consistent. 👍

Everything is now locking and working smoothly again as it should, and I got a lovely review from my customer, Indy, too! 💪🥳🙏

Sometimes it really is best to leave it to the professionals! 😂🔐

This cylinder ended up snapped clean in half after a builder tried to fix the problem and fitted a screw that was far too big for the lock. Safe to say it didn’t end well! 😳

I completely understand people trying to help or save money, but locks and mechanisms can be a lot more delicate than they look, and one small mistake can quickly turn into a much bigger job. 😢

Thankfully, I was able to get things sorted properly afterwards and get the customer secure again. 👍

A new gearbox was fitted in Upminster today after the customer had been forcing the key to lock the door. 😬🔐

If you ever find yourself having to force a key, lift the handle harder than usual, or “fight” with the lock to get it to work, something usually isn’t right. A lot of the time, the problem slowly worsens until the gearbox fails completely, and you suddenly find yourself locked out or unable to secure the door properly. 😱

The good news is that catching it early can often save a lot of stress. 💯

Sometimes it’s more than just a job. 😉🔐

A lot of people know me for emergency call-outs, lockouts, and repairs, but what many don’t see is the side of locksmithing I genuinely love... restoring old locks and bringing a bit of history back to life. 🫶

This old lock had definitely seen better days when I first got hold of it, but with a lot of patience, cleaning, and careful work, it’s now been completely transformed. 💫

I find jobs like this really satisfying. Anyone can replace something with new, but there’s something special about preserving the original character and craftsmanship where possible. 👌

Locksmithing has always been a real passion of mine, not just a job I turn up to do every day. 🥰
