Nostalgia really is a powerful thing.
Like a lot of people lately, I think I’ve found myself feeling a bit worn down by how fast and uncertain the world can feel sometimes. Life moves quickly, everyone’s constantly busy, and it can feel like there’s never much time to properly switch off.
This evening I ended up watching old WWF storylines from when I was a kid, and it’s strange how something so simple can instantly transport you back to a completely different time in your life. The entrance music, the commentary, the rivalries I used to be glued to as a kid — it all somehow still carries the same feeling years later.
For a little while, it takes you back to a time where life felt simpler. Before adult responsibilities, constant stress and the endless stream of bad news that seems to follow us all around these days.
I think that’s why nostalgia means so much to people. It’s not necessarily about wanting to live in the past — it’s more about reconnecting with moments in life that felt comforting, familiar and uncomplicated.
Even if it’s only for a short while, those moments of escape can genuinely help reset your mind a little.
I know this page is mainly about plastering, renovations and the work I do day to day, but I also want people to see there’s a real person behind the business too. Like everyone else, I have the same thoughts, stresses and little moments of reflection that we all experience from time to time.
Anyway… back to watching Stone Cold hand out Stunners like it’s still 1999.
