Little sneak of what has been done so far.

A lovely couple who have the most gorgeous of houses (i have proper house envy) booked me out for a week to do an assortment of jobs, the first one getting rid of the cherry red varnished skirting, architraves and this door.

The wall had been painted before they moved in so we didn't know what colour it was, we rather successfully match it with my extension dulux colour chart. So we colourwashed door, skirting and architrave on this wall and the downstairs WC behind it.

Now working my way through a maze of rooms with my white eggshell to sort the rest of it.
My decorator whites turned pink with all the sanding prep!

Already booked me in for a further 2 weeks later on in the year with lots of other painting jobs, I might just move in for a while lol.

Hoping by end of this week i will have time to also do the beam hack on the dark beams in their walk in pantry as a test for whether to do it in the rest of the house. Their are an awful lot of beams here!!

I am now fully booked until 18th November!!!
But please keep recommending me to secure future bookings :)

This weekends local business (personally used) big up!

3 years ago we decided to give our tatty garden a glow up.

Now anyone who knows me, knows i can picture in my head exactly the look and feel of what I want to create, but trying to get that picture to someone else I struggle with.

These boys took my vague ideas and amazed us with going above and beyond.

We love our quirky, repurposed garden, its full of us.

Totally recommend these guys for you house and garden improvements
Fences, patio, paths, hot tub base, planting area under gazebo and sleeper wall plus steps all carried out by them.

And thats a Friday wrap

Finished off the 3rd room and the furniture at my lovely customers.
Its been a great week+ working for them, especially when I get Cocker Spaniel Cuddles thrown in.
Walls in Little Greene as before, furniture in Annie Sloans Paris Grey, wardrobes finished with sealing lacquer (were still wet when I left so not the best after photos)

Onto another beautiful house next week for various jobs including the Frenchic Beam Hack.

2nd room finished in the lovely home ive been working on.
This one not such an obvious makeover as walls were already white, but just looks fresher and more uniform, with an area of a historical leak treated and the typical cracks you get from period houses.

1 more room to go and some wardrobes and other bits of furniture to paint.

This one has been such a lovely job for the nicest of couples and their gorgeous doggo.

So who got the guess the number of coats needed competition right?

1st coat Good Homes Ultra cover
2nd coat dulux trade supermatt white along with ceiling
3rd and 4th coat Little Greenes in Linen wash

The customer had hoped just 1 coat of Little Greene would do it, but agreed a 2nd coat gave it a much more uniformed finish.
Woodwork, cupboards plus windows and frames all in Little Greene intelligent satinwood in Linen wash for that colour drenched feel.
Now on to the next 2 bedrooms for their Spruce ups

When a customer says these magic words

"I can make you a proper posh coffee, its a bean to cup machine"

Anyone who knows me, knows im a coffee snob, I dont drink instant (that why I often opt for a cup of tea, rather than embarrassingly ask if you have a coffee machine lol) 😉

Today's job is turning this into a white room,

1st makeover of the week turning this tired mustard room into a bright soon to be Babies nursery thats going to be snail and the whale themed.

The most beautiful of blues ive ever used, reminds me of the roof tops in Santorini (cant wait to be there again in September)

Sometimes the little things make the biggest differences.

Having spent a lot of time (and of course money) beautifying the inside of our home and our gorgeous back garden, the front has always let our efforts down, and yet thats the part everyone sees, maybe we should have started there 😀

Just a simple repaint of the fences (thank you Mr Aurora) and then blackening of the concrete steps and porch way and it already looks so much better. Does this mean though i have to be the 1940s housewife in my housecoat (which i do have but thats a whole other story) out the front every week re blackening them whilst gossiping with the neighbours?

Next job is to tackle the miss matched concrete and tarmac patch, thinking about making that area a uniform concrete slab and then stencilling it with a tile effect in outdoor paint. What do you suggest?

Not the kind of weather you'd want to be a painter/decorator during, but here i am!!!

Repaint of Hall, stairs and landing for a lovely couple who's previous decorator didn't leave them with the finish they wanted 🤔
Walls in Dulux Blush Pink and ceilings in white supermatt.

And also getting the bathroom all nice and neat in Zinseer mould resistant bathroom paint in white.
