A failed handle can stop a door working properly.

This bifold door needed more than just a quick tweak. The mechanism and handle were replaced, leaving the door working neatly again.

Called out to Cowes last night, customer locked out of their wooden back door, PO31.

The multipoint lock mechanism had failed. Not a forced entry, not a lost key — just a mechanism that had given up at the worst possible time.

Got it sorted without damaging the door. New mechanism in, door locking properly, customer back inside.

This is exactly what the 24/7 side of the job looks like. No call-out fee, whatever time it is.

Saturday was just another day at the office…

Except today I had Sam supervising.

She even got stuck in fixing a door handle — well, handing me the right bits while I did it. Either way, team effort.

We’re home now, van parked up, and that’s us done for the day — unless the emergency phone goes. Still on call if anyone needs a lockout or a door that won’t secure overnight.

Bit of locksmithing, bit of van life, bit of family life. Honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.

Odd one in Ryde today…

Customer had accidentally caught the lock while leaning on their patio door, without realising.

Problem was, the door was still open — and they couldn’t find the key for it either.

Quick attendance, lock picked, no damage caused, and the patio door was back working as it should the same day.

It’s a good reminder with patio doors and uPVC doors: if the key is missing, stiff, or never really used, it’s worth sorting before it becomes a nuisance.

Holiday let door looking tired?

This uPVC door had a damaged panel and worn handle, so we repaired the panel and replaced the handles for a cleaner finish for guests arriving.

Useful for holiday lets and rental properties across the Island.
