This morning we began the next phase of Grow Wild with the construction of two additional raised beds. A massive thank you to Clive for all his help.

None of this would have been possible without Tesco’s Stronger Start grant.

There’s more to come! Watch this space 😊

Our last working party of the year saw us sowing green manures (Phacelia) in all four of our raised beds. Green manures are fast-growing, non-edible crops sown to improve soil health. Next year, in late winter/early spring, we will dig the Phaceilia back into the soil to add organic matter, increase fertilisation, improve soil structure and supress weeds. Watch this space for further details! In the meantime, the Swiss Chard we sowed earlier in the year is still going strong.
