With grass that's green and goals in place, all that's missing is the referee's whistle. Wishing everyone a fantastic tournament filled with great football, great company, and great gardens!

Red Thread is starting to appear in lawns following the recent spell of warm, wet weather — the perfect conditions for this common lawn disease to thrive. 🌧️🌱

You may notice patches of grass turning pinkish-red or light brown, often with a thin, cotton-like appearance. On closer inspection, the grass blades can have tiny red or pink thread-like strands extending from them — this is the classic sign of Red Thread.

The good news is, that if Red Thread does begin to creep its way through your lawn and raise a concern, the disease is very unlikely to be fatal, as it does not kill the roots of the grass plant. Instead, it is considered more of a nuisance to your lawn rather than a deadly disease.

The perfect weather for ducks this week! ☔🦆
But many lawn enthusiasts will be loving this rain too! 🌱

Still, we couldn’t resist sharing this little throwback to last week, when our technician Nick captured this peaceful moment. Two ducks relaxing on the green grass before waddling off together in the sunshine - nature at its best ☀️🌿

Blue skies, beautiful views, and a perfect reminder to slow down and enjoy the simple things this summer - rain or shine!

A customer is currently building a pond in their front garden, and nature wasted no time moving in! The liner had only been in place for a day before this little newt decided to make itself at home. 🦎☀️

Our technician Nick snapped this great photo of the tiny visitor basking in the sunshine last week - a lovely reminder of how quickly wildlife can benefit from even the smallest garden habitats.

Monday mornings look better with lawn stripes ☀️🌱

Beautiful striping is usually a good indicator of a lawn that’s being properly maintained through regular mowing, good nutrition, and healthy growing conditions.

This moisture meter reading shows the lawn at just 4% soil moisture. For healthy turf growth, moisture levels should ideally be 15% or higher 🌱💧

When soil becomes too dry, lawns can struggle to absorb nutrients properly and may begin to show signs of stress such as thinning, discolouration, or slower growth.

Consistent, deep watering, especially during warmer weather, can help maintain healthier soil conditions and support a stronger lawn overall. Our watering guide includes helpful tips on how to water effectively and avoid common mistakes.

🌱 At Lawntech, we do things differently.

Unlike many lawn care companies, we’ve invested heavily in research to create our own organic-based fertiliser treatments designed to care for both your lawn and the environment. 💚

Here’s something many people don’t realise 👇

A lot of products that promise a fast “green-up” rely on polymer-coated fertilisers (plastic-coated pellets). While they can give quick results, those plastics don’t break down properly and can remain in your lawn for years.

The photos here show exactly that 👀
After taking over a lawn and carrying out scarification, we uncovered plastic-coated fertiliser pellets still sitting in the soil 2 years after they were applied.

At Lawntech, we would never use polymer-coated fertilisers.
Our treatments are:

✔️ Organic-based
✔️ Slow-release
✔️ Better for long-term lawn health
✔️ Kinder to the environment 🌍

The results may take a little longer, but we believe healthier, more sustainable lawns are worth it. 🌱

Today is World Bee Day - a chance to recognise the vital role bees and other pollinators play in supporting our environment and biodiversity. 🐝🌼

At Lawntech, we’ve developed our own wildflower programme to create lasting habitats that provide food and shelter for pollinators and wildlife throughout the
year.

While initiatives such as No Mow May can help raise awareness, these spaces are often cut back at the end of the month, removing the habitats that wildlife has
started to rely on.

By contrast, dedicated wildflower areas offer a long-term, biodiverse environment that supports bees, butterflies, hoverflies, and many other important species all year round.

You can find out more about our wildflower programme at our website - https://www.lawn-tech.co.uk/lawn-care-services/annual-wildflower-seeding-programme/
