Welcome to the official page of the Salisbury Malayalee Community (SMC). Salisbury Malayalee Community (SMC) is a socio-cultural voluntary association. The main objective of SMC is to promote social, artistic, cultural, sports and literary activities. Organising unique programmes with a touch of Indian heritage in arts, literature or other cultural fields. The strength of this organisatio

n is not only in the number of members which consists of people from various walks of life - but also in the efforts being made, in achieving the goals of the organisation. SMC's presence in Salisbury should be especially felt among its Malayalee community. Some of the activities of SMC include the celebration of major festivals of Kerala such as Onam, Christmas & Easter, in a traditional way as well as creating a nostalgic environment in Salisbury City by replicating the enthusiasm seen in Kerala. Members and their children are encouraged to exhibit their talent in fields such as dance, music, painting, etc. Furthermore, we aim to provide our younger generation with opportunities to represent in sports & cultural competitions. We aim to bring all the members of our association onto a single platform, culture, and lifestyle thereby creating a sense of oneness, self and mutual respect among each other through interaction, to develop a pleasant environment for our children to grow up within our community's rich traditions, culture and values of life.

We have another film heading to the ODEON Salisbury this weekend. On Sunday 19th April at 15:00pm we have Pallichattambi.

This action-packed Malayalam entertainer is directed by Dijo Jose Antony, with Tovino Thomas in the lead role. The film is written by S. Suresh Babu and produced by Naufal and Brijeesh under Worldwide Films, with co-production by Charan, Chanukya, Chaitanya, and Thanzeer. Alongside Tovino Thomas, the movie features Kayadu Lohar, Vijayaraghavan, J***y Antony, and Sudheer Karamana in key roles.

Karia, a ruthless goon in 1990s Idukki, lives by violence and risky schemes. When his ties to a local boss sour and his plans backfire, he must fight to survive the mess he created.

This coming Sunday we have another fantastic Malayalam Language feature with Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros. A sequel to the 2024 comedy drama film directed by Savin S. A. (in his directorial debut) and written by Vipin Das. The film stars Hashir H., Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak V., alongside Vijay Babu, Aju Varghese, Bijukuttan, Alphonse Puthren, and Sudheesh in supporting roles.

Vaazha 2 focuses on the new gang of 'bros' whom we already met in the first film. Hashir and Alan, cousins, childhood friends and neighbours, share a close bond that extends into school life. Their dynamic gets disrupted when they clash with Sajin, his younger brother Ajin, and their friend Vinayak, triggered by Ajin's inappropriate interest in Alan's sister.

It is screening at the ODEON in Salisbury on Sunday 12th April at 15:00pm and is rated 15 certificate.

We have another upcoming Malayalam language feature at the ODEON Salisbury with Chatha Pacha: The Ring Of Rowdies playing on Thursday 22nd January at 19:15pm.

The Ring of Rowdies is an action comedy directed by debutant Adhvaith Nayar and produced by Ritesh S Ramakrishnan and Cannes-winning filmmaker Shihan Shoukath, the film brings together a compelling cast led by Arjun Ashokan and Roshan Mathew, along with Ishan Shoukath, and Vishak Nair in key roles.
