There are lots of things to watch out for when buying garage doors. One I find amusing is the get £250.00 off offer when you trade in your old garage door, when you buy a roll up garage door from that company. So, we recycle our metal doors at a metal recycle centre in Salisbury, Guyatts Of Salisbury Ltd. for typical single metal doors we get about £6.00 + VAT this could stretch to about £20.00 for some of the heaviest ones. Fiberglass & wood doors cost us money to drop at CB Skips in Salisbury.

To my mind, I cannot think of any logical / profitable way that this is being done without adding it on in the first place, and then knocking it off to make you think that your getting an amazing deal.

You know the expression buy cheap buy twice? Especially when the sales blurb is misleading or downright untrue. What to expect when you buy a door from Garolla from £895 including VAT.

When you read statements like - Specialist Roller Garage Door surveyors & Installers - Acoustic & Thermally efficient – Secure – decades of experience - highest quality range of doors available – best component parts available. Other statements, such as they use hexagon rather than round barrels for added security. Most if not all roll-up garage doors come with hexagon barrels. For added security Police Preferred Secured by design barrels are round specifically for added security, so yet another erroneous statement.

Read the reviews on Trustpilot, sure they have a lot of good ones but the same things keep cropping again & again, job not finished, not coming back to finish, door mismeasured big gaps, Cables left dangling, Door blew out after being installed for 3 days, NOT COMING BACK, at least in any kind of a hurry. There’s a long list…..

Plus the fact that Garolla are ignoring Trading Standards or have found a loophole to sell doors without safety systems, this was introduced about 5 years ago. This is not honourable, this is not putting the customer first, this is getting rich & don’t care how. (AN OPINION) The lack of customer care evident in so many of the reviews is shameful.

The pictures showing how they use concrete screws drilled through the guide rails, this is not a professional way to install roll-up doors.

My picture below shows how a professionally installed guide rail should look, you can’t see, but each guide rail has five 80mm rawlplug fixings, plus the caps to hide the hole. The top box has at least 2 on each side. To be fair this is over & above, but then I really care that my doors aren’t going to blow out. The picture also shows what a good quality external override looks like.
