We have new opening hours in place, we are now open Monday- Friday 08:00 until 17:00, Saturday's opening hours remain the same with us closing at 12:00

Update- Funeral Plans

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with the kind words, flowers and support to the family at this difficult time.

Jim's funeral is to be held at 11:30 on Friday 1st August 2025 at East Riding Crematorium in Octon followed by a gathering at Ye Olde Forge Valley Inn, West Ayton, Open to all who knew him.

It is with great sadness we must share the news that our company founder and managing director, Jim Palmer, passed away at 75 years of age in Scarborough Hospital on Sunday 6th July 2025.

All the team at Flixton Sawmill are devasted by this news, particularly family members and colleagues who worked with Jim over the years.

Jim touched many lives, made many friends, and was very well liked by both staff and customers alike. He had a no-nonsense attitude, a great sense of humour and will be sorely missed by all.

This is the last picture taken of Jim by his son Will Palmer - Photography a week before he passed.

Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
